First trip to DL 6/27-7/3. Stretching the budget to stay at DLH in standard view room. Would love a comp upgrade or remodeled room but not counting on it. Should we splurge and get a resort view room? What view rooms can you see the fireworks from?

I would say to stick with your standard room and request the Magic Tower. You will be able to see Disneyland off to your right and will have a great view of the fireworks.

which tower views DTD? and which one for the pool area? which one faces the parking lot? :rotfl2:

Didn't mean to intrude on your post hehe but just wondering.... is there a tower that is not yet done with the renovations?

The Dreams Tower faces DTD on one side the the pool on the other. This tower's renovation are almost complete.

The Magic Tower faces the pool on one side and a parking lot (with a view DL to the right) on the other side.

The Wonder Tower faces the waterfalls and koi ponds on one side and a parking lot (with a view of DCA to the left) on the other side.

Neither the Magic or Wonder Towers have started renovations.

HTH!

Does anyone know if any of the rooms on the upper floors of the Wonder tower that face the pool get a view of the fireworks in the distance?

What exactly is the layout of the towers? I know their names but not which one is which.:confused3 I am so geographically challenged. Is there a map with where they sit and names?

I am on the lookout for a map, but in the meantime here is my best attempt:

W
O M
N A
D G
E I
R C
DREAMS

DTD

If you are looking at the resort from DTD, the Dreams Tower is at the entrance right in front of you. The Wonder is to your left, closer to the Paradise Pier Hotel, and the Magic is to your right closer to the parking structure.

:rotfl:

The problem is I get it! Thanks so much. I will go and put in a request now. So the dream tower up high will get us the view of the fireworks. Is there a lot of noise from DTD?

A dream tower upper level resort view will get you a fireworks view I believe. If you have a lower level view room you may face DTD or into the DLH towards the pool. We had a lower level view and ended up in Wonder directly above the waterfall. Great view! And we could see pieces of F! "fireworks" from our balcony.

Just bumping up my question about the wonder tower in case anyone knows....

I don't know for sure, but quite frankly I wouldn't think so. That whole tower has no desirable views in my opinion. Even the ones over the waterfalls are just ok and it is loud over there. I really try to avoid the Wonder tower if I can.

Good to know - thank you. I've paid for an upper level pool/resort view, so I have my fingers crossed. I've requested a refurbished room (as has everyone else, I'm sure :)) with a fireworks view, but I'm kind of wondering what the best thing to ask for is when I get there should my request not pan out.

we to our streaching just a little to stay at the DLR and just went with the standad view. If I could get a upgrade, I would like a view of the pool. Is there any area I might request when we get there that are standard, tha might have a view of the pool area?:goodvibes

My experience with booking rooms at Disney hotels has been one of frustration sometimes. Because of the sheer number of rooms they turn over, when you book a reservation they do not let you request floors, particular views, etc. (And if they do, the notes are seldom read in advance of you showing up to the front desk at check-in.) You can pay additional for a view room or a suite, but unless the suite you booked is only available on the top floors with the view you want, there is no guarantee you will have the view YOU want. And if you pay more for a "view" room, it may not have the "view" you consider to be a view.

Also, they do not normally upgrade rooms as they are normally sold out during peak seasons (or are trying to book those rooms at a premium). For example check-in is at 3pm (I think). But don't count on your room being available before 4pm (or later). Even if some of the rooms are available, the front desk normally gives out the standard answer of "please return after___ to get your room assignment." During the peak seasons there can be a lot of "hurry up and wait."

Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks for all your replies. Just going to keep standard room. I'm thrilled to be going to DLR and staying at the DLH that the room type really isn't that important!
