DLH showing sold out online- worth calling?

I decided to do a last minute trip next weekend with my younger two DDs and was hoping to stay at the DLH Saturday night. It's currently showing sold out on the website for all room types. Is there any point in trying to call instead? Do they hold some rooms for phone only or has anyone had success getting a reservation over the phone when online showed sold out?

I will keep checking online and do have FFI booked as a backup but hoping to still score DLH.

I would try outside sites like Expedia etc, many times those sites will have rooms held for them. I would also try calling DL resorts directly. Good luck.

WHen I encountered the same situation, I waited on hold for 54 minutes for someone to pick up the phone and say I was out of luck. If it were me, I wouldn't bother. They've been running 100% capacity lately.

Bummer. Ok. I'll keep checking in case something opens up but sounds like calling isn't worth it. I have seen some club rooms at GCH open up today but that's, ah, a bit out of my budget (and I have a GCH stay booked for December so I really want DLH for this one) I've thoroughly scoured all the 3rd party sites too

I would keep calling... what you are looking for now is a cancellation rather than any rooms still held by a third party. So regular calling is the only way to catch these...and people change plans surprisingly often!

When it was sold out for me, I found rooms on Cheaptickets.com and getawaytoday.com.

Thanks! I thought I'd hit all the 3rd party sites but forgot about getawaytoday. Alas, no luck there either.

I tried calling this afternoon and the agent thought he had a DLH std view room but the system wouldn't let him complete the booking. I'll keep trying online. I've seen GCH partial view and some suites at GCH and PPH come up for availability today but all too expensive for me.

Thanks! I think I've tried them all... hotels.com, booking.com, lmtclub, getawaytoday, kayak, travelocity, orbitz, expedia, cheaptickets....everyone showing sold out

Lots of people cancel right before the cancellation deadline. I think the deadline for DLH is 5 days before check in date so start calling about a week before you arrive.

Since I'm looking for this weekend, I think I'm already inside that window...would the 5 day for Saturday night have been today or Sunday?

I believe it would be today (Monday), so ideally you would have started calling a few days ago. At this point since it's after the cancellation deadline you'll have to try calling every day on the chance that someone has to cancel at the last minute. Don't give up because large hotels like DLH get lots of last minute cancellations.

This is my plan/hope I do have FFI booked as backup so we won't be sleeping in the esplanade at least (not that they'd let us anyway...)

These two DDs have never stayed at the DLH (well, the 5yr old has but she was only 1 and it was pre-remodel) and I know they're going to love it! Hope we can make use of the pools on Saturday afternoon too
