I haven't stayed at the DLH for over 50 years and I am going to take my granddaughter in July and I see construction on E ticket club at the Adventure Tower. a few questions: Can anyone tell me about this and how impactful it may be in July. And if I book a standard room at the DLH where would that put me? In/close to the construction? And are there any rooms areas I could request that put me close to DTD for walking to the DLR? Thanks you!!!

The closest tower to DTD is Adventure, but that's also the tower where construction is happening. I don't think it would be very noticeable since they're working on rooms on the 11th floor, but maybe someone who has been there recently can clarify.

If you don't want to stay in Adventure you could request Fantasy Tower, which is also close to DTD.

Standard rooms are in all of the towers, so it's hard to guess where they'd put you. But you can call and request a certain tower, or tell them you want to be as close to DTD as possible.

Thank you @Pluto468 --super helpful details. @DizMe I know you've enjoying staying at the DLR--do you (or others) have any suggestions for me around which room area to recommend for a standard room. I'm used to walking from the GCH like you and I am concerned about the walk through DTD for my granddaughter a few times each day.

We stayed in Adventure, where construction is happening in January. We were on the fourth floor and did not see or hear any construction although we did know there was construction happening. You can request a tower. With standard room it is usually not Adventure as most of their rooms have either pool view or Dtd room. But you can request Adventure, but Fantasy is not that far from Adventure, and Frontier is the furthest, but they are all fine.

Standard rooms at DLH are either:
  • Entry side of Fantasy Tower facing the driveway and the parking garages. I highly recommend asking for a high floor room here because you can get a great view of the fireworks from these rooms.
  • Low floor rooms in Adventure Tower on the DTD side that are blocked by trees. I think it's 6th floor and below.
  • Back side of Frontier Tower facing the Simba parking lot.
There are security checkpoints across from both Fantasy and Frontier Towers (on either end of Adventure Tower) so the difference in the walk to DTD is pretty much negligible at this point.
