Hi. sorry, I searched for this and didn't see anything. :confused3
I know there has been renovations going on, plus new names for the towers. However, my knowledge is very vague about what exactly is happening. I managed to score $139 rates :banana:for our trip in Sept and am wondering what we should request or try and avoid. I think 2 queens will work best, as we have a toddler and I can share a bed with him. I have stayed in decent sized rooms there before, but also the tiniest smallest room, known to man with 2 queens (and had to share with the In-laws).. its been several years though (we are gnerally HOJO stayers), so I was hoping someone could step in and give some advice.:yay:

Dream Tower, higher level, with downtown Disney view will give you view of fireworks.

In our last visit (last week), we stayed at Magic Tower with premium view (11th floor with pool view). The room was in good size and pretty comfortable for our family of 4.

Hope it helps.

Which ones are which? Use to be Bonita, Sierra and Marina tower. I know it Dreams, Wonder and Magic but which became which??? Which did the middle one Marina become?

From Wikipedia: In 2007 the Marina, Sierra, and Bonita Towers were renamed Magic, Dreams, and Wonder, respectively.

So... Marina is now Magic, Sierra is Dreams and Bonita is Wonder.

Anyone know which one was most recently refurbished? Largest rooms? Oh, and which was the first Tower?

Thanks much!

The first tower is Dreams ( I believe) when walking back from the park. I wish I could somehow make a request to prevent the tiny, tiny rooms. I swear the last time we stayed there we had a 2 Queens, after a long skinny hallway, only one night stand fit between the beds and they were pushed against the window/wall. And we had to share with the inlaws... it was rough! I am pretty sure it was the sierra/dreams tower too...

We are currently staying in a two room suite at the DLH, we requested adjoining rooms in the dreams tower overlooking DTD and were told that was not available due to the fact that half of the dreams tower is on its way to being renovated, The whole east side of the Dreams tower is currently close. We checked in yesterday morning and received an upgrade to a suite.

Mind sharing how you got such a great rate????? :)

Not sure.. its an AP rate.. but I thought it was low for DLH.. its 139 + taxes.. which are about $20.. so really $159 a nite.. 5 nites = $800! (+ of course resort fees).. but they never include taxes + resort fees when you see rates quoted anyway. I was shocked to get it, because the grand is sold out, figured DLH would be close to it too. Maybe it was a mistake?

Interesting... I talked with reservations just last week and our September 26-October 1 trip was confirmed for Dreams tower, high floor, DTD view. If they are right it looks like we may get one of the newly renovated rooms.
