Are they on higher floors? Or are they just facing the park? Does each tower have a mix of all the rooms?

A premium view is either a pool view or a downtown disney view from the upper floors. You can call and request which view you want (and at this point in construction, a pool view is a very sad view indeed)--but that doesn't mean you will get it. The last few times we have gone (we always pay for a premium view there) we have requested a downtown disney view to avoid the construction, but have been placed facing the pool.

I forget what they consider an upper floor (it isn't as high as you might think)--you may need to call and ask.

We stayed on points there a couple of months ago, so had booked a Standard View but the hotel seemed pretty empty and the CM told us we had been upgraded to a Premium View. It was facing the pool, 5th floor. Cool to watch the construction (though the noise in the afternoon kind of made napping more difficult for the DS4), and since we 'paid' for standard we didn't mind. Kind of glad we didn't pay a premium for a 5th floor construction view though. ;)

yeah-construction view/pool is my fear. I was hoping the deluxe view was pool and premium was downtown disney. There was a bit of a problem of communication with changing our reservation to take advantage of our latest offer and we got changed to premium from standard. DS naps so afternoon noise is an issue. I have a request for frontier because of that.

Any tips on what I should request? Would frontier be far enough from the pool that a pool view with construction won't be so bad? Or should I ditch frontier and say a downtown disney view in one of the other towers?

I liked frontier because of the train in the lobby-and DH and DS love trains.

Thoughts?

I'm avoiding this hotel like the plague until it's completed!
Too many sad stories about noise, construction, dirt, ugliness. When I stay there, I like it to be magical. Just wonderful. I hate the thought of dealing with the mess.

We had friends who just returned and basically spent the whole time there trying to convince themselves "it isn't THAT bad" when in fact, it was. Now that they are home, they are really disappointed that they chose to stay there. Hindsight.

I love that hotel, even more than Grand CA, but for now, I'm not going to mess with my notion of it and need to keep it very special.

Ack. I called last week and she asked what view we wanted. I said pool not thinking. I hope it is the monorail pool. Oh well. We do have standard view and the CM said it was the lower floors (4 and under.)

Well, we will see tomorrow around 2:00 what kind of room we get. :goodvibes
