DLH location suggestions

We are making our first trip to DLH in a few weeks and I was considering requesting a specific tower. We are booked in a standard room on DVC points.
We will be there for 5 nights and would like a room that is most convenient to everything. My DH has severe back problems and will be staying in the hotel some days while DD and I hit the parks. So, it would be nice to have a location that would make it easy for him to easily explore.
Also, we have friends that will be staying in PP and would be going back and forth between the 2 hotels.
One other question, will there be an issue if our friends staying in PP come to the DLH pool with us or visa versa. Do they check room cards?
Thanks
Ellen

I would think for convenience that the Dreams tower would be the best as far as going to DTD and getting on the monorail. We were in the Wonder Tower and although it is the furthest from the monorail it still was close to everything and the walk was just a few short minutes. The Wonder Tower is probably the closest to PP though and parking is convenient in this Tower if you can find a spot in the small lot that is attached. We were able to park our car there and it was just a short walk into the tower. I will say that the monorail was down quite a bit so we would have to walk all the way to the front gates most of the time. I also found it odd that the monorail stopped running right at park close. We stayed one night until midnight (so we could ride Nemo) and the monorail was already shut down for the night so we had to walk back. The walk is not all that bad actually but with a bad back it could definitely be a problem. Have you considered the GCH? We are here right now and the convenience is unbelievable. Not sure about the pool thing, hopefully someone else can chime in.
