Seems all I can book is 4 days at the DLH. Is there a limit on the stay or maybe it is just to busy? Thinking about staying 3-4 days at DLH and 2-3 at the BWPPH. Is it worth it to stay at DLH? How hard is it to move hotels part way through? I don't know if we would need a taxi or what to get from the BWPP to the DLH. We are travelling the 2nd week of January and will have a 2 and 4 year old in tow. I like the fact the BWPPH is right across the street but also would like to have some 'Disney Magic'. What makes the DLH special or stand out from a good neighbour hotel?
Sorry so many questions. First trip !!

Thinking about staying 3-4 days at DLH and 2-3 at the BWPPH. Is it worth it to stay at DLH? Definately, not only do you feel the magic, you also get early entry with your stay.

Not sure what BWPPH is... my hotel acrynom isnt too good :(.
What makes the DLH special or stand out from a good neighbour hotel? EE, more magical...

As a mom who travels regularly with kids, moving hotels with little kids in the middle of your vacation would be a feat. What will you do the day you move for 3 hours with your luggage and stuff? Checking out of a hotel by 11 or 12, and then checkin at the other hotel is not until 3. Waste of a day if you ask me. I would stay at the BWPPI for your stay. Then it is easy to come back for a nap, and most likely a whole lot less $$, which would enable you to spend on a nice dinner somewhere, or on souvenirs, etc. Also, BWPPI has free breaky if that's a consideration for you. If you really want to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, phone direct or use a TA and see what they can come up with for your vacation dates. My advice is to stay in one hotel.

Just my 2 CAD pennies,

BTW for Albort :wave2: BWPPI = Best Western Park Place Inn

Thanks for the replies. I never even considered checking out in the morning and not getting to the next room until later in the afternoon. DH and I decided anyways that it wasn't worth the hassle especially with our little kids. Maybe when they are older. We went and booked the Best Western Park Place and feel it will be a great holiday regardless of where we stay. We are going to Disneyland after all :woohoo:

At least with the money you save you won't feel bad about spending more in other places. Have fun.

Just for future reference, the easiest switch to make is between resort hotels like 1/2 at PP and then 1/2 at DLH or GC. The bellman will move your stuff over to the other hotel! For any switch between other hotels. most will hold your luggage for you so it really is not a big deal other than the fact that you won't have a room to be in from 11 am to 3 pm. Have them hold your luggage and then call a taxi to move over when your room is ready-very cheap too. Also, if you have to switch, start out at the "cheaper" place and then upgrade, makes the extra work seem worth it!

One last thing, if you are booking online and can not find what you want, always call the hotel directly as they often have rooms left.

BWPP may mean Best Western Park Plaza, but that's just a "best guess".

I think its really the BWPPI, for The Best Western Park Place Inn. Its probably the closest of any motel/hotel to Disneyland as its right at the crosswalk on Harbor. Just a 2-3 minute walk to the turnstiles of either Disneyland or DCA.

We always resort hop at WDW and I have 3 kids under 5 yrs old. We love it. Its like getting 2 minivacations, each resort has its own charm. We usually stay a minimumn of 3 nights or longer at each resort and always end at the concierge or deluxe resort. Since we're staying at DL and have never been there before we are spending 4 nights at DH and 5 nights at GCH. Have a great trip.
