Has anyone stayed at the DLH...both at the premieum view vs. the concierge view - tell us if it is really worth the extra cost at concierge? Never stayed at concierge at any hotel before did, any special perks? Going over the week after Christmas.

Depends on what you base "worth" on, and how many people are in your party. If you have 2 people, dont spend much time in the room, and dont care about little things like turn down service- then no, its not worth if. If you are a family, spend time at the hotel and in the room (breaks, naps, swimming, etc) and love to feel a little more pampered on vacation, then yes it will be worth it.

We stayed at PP last fall, with conc. We had breakfast every morning. We missed out on the afternoon and evening offerings most days. We just dont spend that much time in the park. We would take drinks back to the room with us, and to the parks sometimes. But, drinks do get heavy to carry! We probably would never pay for that level again, just because its not how we travel. We are rarely in our room, and like to carry a minimal amount with us in the parks. We never used some of the features, like the dvd rentals.

Thanks for the info...I have more questions, if you don't mind. I'm actually a DVC member and did not know if it was worth to use the extra points to upgrade to con. You had mentioned breakfast...what did they have for breakfast and snacks etc? Any other perks? Since I'm not upgrading with cash but rather DVC points, if breakfast, snacks are descent...might be worth it for me since, I have 2 teenagers that can eat!!!

Breakfast was cold cereal, instant oatmeal, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels/ english muffins, milk and juice- very basic. They have coke products, juice boxes and water available. You can take it to your room or to the park, but they ask that you limit it to two per trip in to the lounge. They have fruit and cookies out during the day, oh, and those smuckers pb&j uncrustable sandwiches. Then in the evening they have beer, wine, fruit/ cheese/ crackers, and usually one hot item. While my husband, kids and I didnt make in the evening, my FIL often did. He said they had things like meat balls, mini cheese burgers, etc- one selection per evening.

Other perks are express check in. We waited in the lounge and had a snack while we waited for our turn, and for our room to be ready. DVD player and movies to borrow. And turn down service at night. They also will help you get PS for anything you havent booked in advance.

The staff was great! One morning they overheard my FIL say he needed a health food store. Next thing we knew they were giving him address and phone number for a couple local places. Then they called his cab for him. They also called super shuttle to arrange our pick up.

I think it's worth it, especially at the holidays. We always use the concierge services a great deal when we go for Christmas. Everything from the dedicated check-in to the snacks and drinks during the day (DH is so much happier after that complimentary wine in the evenings :thumbsup2) and having the concierge staff to get your last minute reservations for you is so nice. It's important enough to us this year we will be staying at GC because the room we wanted is unavaliable at the concierge level at DLH. (CG concierge is good, too!) :goodvibes
