We are typical WDW visitors planning a trip to DisneyLand in the late summer. (Aug or Sept) We are use to staying on site and have heard that is not necessary with Disneyland, however we are traveling with two little ones and would feel a little safer being on property and not having to cross the streets with them. My husband said it would be cool to stay at the original hotel. So we are looking at DLH. I was looking into getting an AP for myself to get a discount on the hotel. Is that a good idea? I think it will be about $80 more and then I would get a regular 3 day for the rest of the family. What kind of rates are for that time of year? I have seen it for $159 and was hoping to get that to make it worth our while. I am the Disney nut in the family, but this whole idea was my DH. He wants a small vacation this year for about 4 days,so I think this is his way of getting that.:rotfl: I am a bit nervous, but excited too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that DLH is a great choice for you and your family. AP rates usually start in Sept (I think), so that would be a better choice than Aug. $159 seems pretty low to me, but maybe for a standard room, it might be $10 or $20 more. View rooms cost more. Definitely worth it to purchase one AP, plus don't forget you get dining discounts with it. Good luck deciding and have a wonderful trip.:)
