DLH-anyone getting offers to extend their stay?

I haven't received the offer on my more recent stays at the PPH or the GCH, but I have received them in the past at both of those hotels. In fact, when I got the offers to "Stay an extra night at X amount," it always seemed to be at a time when it was impossible to take advantage of the opportunity, i.e., I had to get home, there was no extra money to spend, etc.

Of course, the times when I would have been able to take advantage of the offer were the times when I didn't get an offer! It figures...

I think those offers are largely based on how busy the hotel is during that particular time frame. If they are nearly all booked up, no one will get an offer. If they have a large number of rooms still available, they will give a certain number of guests the offer.

More recently, however, although I did not receive the "Stay an extra night" offer, I received free room upgrades at the PPH (from standard to theme park view) two years in a row, and on one occasion I was able to get into my PPH room right when I checked in (just before 6 a.m. on a Sunday).

ETA: I neither asked for the theme park view room upgrades at PPH nor the "Stay an extra night" offers in the past. The hotels have gifted me with those things all on their own, with no prompting from me.
