Hey All...

Well my DL Annual Pass expired a couple weeks ago while I was in WDW. I never received anything in the mail from Disney concerning renewal but then again had a neighbor collecting mail so I wouldn't be surprised if it was lost.

In any case, I am looking into options and pricing for renewing the pass and into upgrading it to a 2-Park Premium or Deluxe so I can go to DCA. I am also a Disney Club member. My question is...what is the best price I can get for the renewal?

I saw yesterday at DL that to buy a new 2 Park Premium is $284.00 but then heard someone saying in line at DCA that to upgrade your DL AP to a 2 Park is only $50.00. Is this true? If so I suppose I would just buy a DL Premium and upgrade to save some $$. Any help on clarification would be appreciated.

I just saw another thread on this board about the 2-Park Annuals. I guess my question leans more towards...does Disney Club give me some sort of discount for AP and what was this person talking about $50 upgrade mean? Thanks!

We've had PAPs for the last few years, and the best offer I've come across (or heard of) for the new 2 park pass was $284, which seems to be in line with Disney's other AP discounts. For current AP holders, Disney was offering to upgrade by issuing a new pass for $284, less the pro-rated value of the current pass.

Disney was offering discount preview tickets for the new park. I couldn't fit it in to my schedule, so I didn't pay attention, but could $50 have been the price of a discounted 2-park preview ticket?

Thanks for responding Gary...

As for the Preview Passes they were $20. That is where I heard the $50.00 rumor...at the Annual Passholder Preview.

As for your response to my pricing question for the 2 Park PAP I too think $284.00 might be the best deal out there. But when you say "less the pro-rated value of the current pass" what do you mean?

Thanks!

how much of your pass you ahve already used.

For example, if your pass is 6 months old and you paid 199 for it, you will get 100 dollars twoard your new 2 park pass and the new pass is good from 1 year on the day you upgrade. Yes, you can get the Disney Club discount towards the upgraded pass.

Hope that clarifies things....

Oh and apparently the additional discount of buying the pass before February ends today. It could save you up to 15 dollars on a PAP. See one of the other threads posted today.

The absolute best price you could have gotten was $274 for PAP. This was based on mail-in renewal before 1/31. You might be stuck with the $299 now, unless DC offers a discount.

There are no more 2 park passes available as of Feb 2, 2001. :(

<font color=navy>This is what I heard from Guest Relations today. Disneyland Resort will only renew current APs. If you have a deluxe, you can renew a deluxe - you cannot upgrade to premium. Also, there are no more 2 park APs offered anymore.

Apparently, so many APers were getting passes for both parks that the Disney people were forecasting DCA full of APers and no room for the daily passers.

For people like me, who are renewing passes this week, that stinks. But, then I can understand their reasoning. If the park is overcrowded and beyond capacity, no one is happy. At least, this way, there is more of a chance for people to enjoy DCA.
