DL - Why no real dining plan?

Enacting a dining plan like the WDW one is not possible at DL as of current dining options. The added dining of EPCOT, AKL and MGM are too expansive for DL. The dining plan at WDW was designed to keep ALL of the spending within WDW property, detering guests from visiting USO/IoA. The negative of the dining plan has been the lack of available seating at favorite locations. Years ago when King Stephans(sp) was in existence, it was possible to eat at the castle and book it same day. With the new dining plan, it is not advisable to visit the parks without a detailed plan of attack for dining. It is okay if things stay as they are here at DL.

I really do not care if they add a DDP at DLR, but I would like it if they added more Disney dining options. For us it is usually Blue Bayou and Taste Pilot's Grill, and that is about it. Maybe once at Rancho Del Zocalo, which I do not like all that much.

I want to do Cafe Orleans this year, and Storytellers, and maybe somewhere else. Also, the Rain Forest Cafe at AK was a huge hit so I thing we will hit that at DLR's DTD.

I love Napa Rose. Get a seat at the counter, ask Andrew "What's good tonight?" and let him make you whatever he feels like making you. He'll ask you what you like/don't like, and then be prepared for the best meal of your life. Pricey.

I would love to do Napa Rose with my DW, but I do not want to drag my four kiddos into a place like that.

If they're under 12, and you're staying at a DLR hotel, you can use Pinocchio's. Like Neverland Club but not as magical. My daughter Alice had a great time there.
