I flew to Californis this week only to attend my friend's wedding and to specifically go to DL with my DD so we can get some of the quests and have a great time, and when we went to turn in the 50th Anniversay Quests at the VMK place, we were told it was closed!!!!!! Are they only opened on the weekends? None of the CM seemed to know anything about what VMK even was!!!!! I am so bummed out! :(
:guilty:

Wow, what a bummer, they were open earlier in the week when we were there. Did you go to the outside VMK kiosk in TL? Was there a CM there? Who told you it was closed?
I know in the winter they would close the outside kiosk at times and put up a sign saying to go inside Innoventions to redeem quests and pdf's. Did you go inside?

When I've gone, vmk is usually open around 11 am, which is when Innoventions is open, and then closes a few hours before park closing. So if you are too early or too late, yes it will be closed.

Was it raining? I went around there every day on our last 2 trips, weekday and weekend they were there. Like Kaeoboy said they are open then Innoventions is open but usually close at dark.

does VMK central at WDW have certain hours that they are open/closed??

TIA-

In general, VMK Central is open from MK open to MK close -- IF there is a special event or EMH, they are NOT open for that.

Hope that helps :)

I was in there at 8-8:30 pm one night trying to make a character, they were having technical problems. The only time I saw it closed was when we got into the park an hour early for a breakfast reservation, but nothing was open yet. Don't quote me on the opening time since my face was mainly buried in a map trying to find our first stop but we stopped in before we left the park that night.

That's funny, never saw it closed before.

There was a sign on the door that said closed, and there was nobody there who even seemed to know what I was talking about! I swear I had to double check to see what Park I was in! I wish there was a telephone number to call to see if I could do anything about it. I would even send in my ticket stubs with my quests!! I probably won't be going back again for a while, so my DD was extremely disappointed.

Here is a very good tip to all:
Don't ask a CM for help on VMK or anything related to VMK. They don't know. All they know is that VMK is in Inoventions and one VMK insider tour card holds two people.

This happened to me once. It was just an ordinary day at DL and I wanted to redeem my Hidden Mickey Quest paper. The VMK kiosk was closed, telling people to go inside Innoventions. Came back later, still closed. So I finally made the trek inside Innoventions (which, as most of you know, is no easy task!), and sure they had the laptops all over that let you play VMK, but there was NOTHING around where you could pick up/redeem quests. Not even a cast member lurking around the computer area hanging over your shoulder like they always do. So basically I wasted my time going all the way in there. The kiosk never did open the entire day, and I was always checking. Of course the next day after all of my stuff was packed in the car, including my quest paper (not thinking about it), I went over to DL for a bit before I had to leave, and the kiosk was open! Go figure. :P

the cm i was talking to in vmk central was a CL in vmk. They also had tons of rare. (i knew because I was watching them walk around vmk when on one of the computers when there was no one in vmk central)

so I'm guessing they were a rare cast member then?

Yes. They were one of those very rare CM's

I was beginning to believe that I totally wasn't paying attention, but this happened to at least one other person! My DD was so disappointed, I wish I could mail the quests in! :Pinkbounc

Isn't there a CM anywhere willing to help! I swear it's for a child!!!!! Thanks for all the responses!

At WDW, they are always open, seriously.

When I was there they were open for EMH.

I, too wish we could mail the quest in, because not everyone can afford to go to the parks as soon as a new quest comes out.

What door? VMK is an outside booth at Disneyland. When it rains, VMK central moves into innoventions. It is pretty easy to find even when it is inside. I'm just confused as to what 'door' you are talking about. Could you describe what you thought was the VMK area to redeem your quests and pdfs? Maybe we could help you if we knew exactly where you were, at what time. The Innoventions CM's rotate their stations and they all end up with some VMK time, so they should at least be familiar with what VMK is even if they don't play.

I'm afraid you may not have actually been where the DLR VMK booth was. :confused3 Perhaps if we can clear up your question, we can help others who are on their way to Disneyland.
