We are heading to CA in May for our second trip in May. We went about four years ago. What changes have there been? Are FP the same? Especially around RSR... I remember getting there early and standing in a long line for a FP later in the day. Has that changed? Are they still unlinked to other FP so you can get another right away? Same with the night show FP. Can I get a FP for the show in the morning and still get other FP? Thanks.

DLR is still using the "Legacy" FP system (paper). Depending on when you went four years ago, they may or may not have been enforcing return times. At this point, they are enforcing return times, so plan to be back at the attraction during the time window printed on the paper FP. They have announced some upcoming changes to the FP system (paid digital option), but they haven't said when the system would be implemented.

RSR is no longer disconnected. Currently, the only disconnected FPs are for Buzz Lightyear AstroBlaster and WoC. F! and Frozen were also disconnected when they were in use, but F! is currently under refurbishment and Frozen is no longer using the FP system.

Good to know that they are enforcing return times. Thanks! Why is Buzz disconnected? We are going Monday's through Friday in early May so I am hoping the crowds won't be too bad.

That's a good questions...I don't know why Buzz is the one disconnected attraction. The wait times are usually not that long and the FPs are typically for within the next hour.

May 11 to 14 is the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, so there will be crowds that weekend (the pre-race events start on Thursday, so crowds usually start building from Thursday onward). Hopefully the crowds will be manageable otherwise. The only major downside to Mon to Fri in early May is that the fireworks are usually limited to weekends only (Fri to Sun). MSEP and WoC should be nightly (weather permitting).

My guess is because more people would have to line up and pass through the distribution area if they couldn't pull both at once.

It was interesting this past weekend Racers was "semi-disconnected." At about 10:30 we pulled our fast passes for Racers with a return time of 8 pm. We were told that we could pull another Fast Pass 2 hours after our initial pull. At 1 pm we pulled fast passes for Soarin with a 9pm return time. Not sure if the two hours is always the case or if this was a special provision for Racers for a busy holiday/run weekend.

Two hours is standard...you can pull another FP when the time window opens or two hours later, whichever comes first. So for example, if you pulled the RSR FP at 10:30 am with an 8:00 pm return time, you'll be eligible to get your next DCA attraction FP at 12:30 pm (two hours later). The main caveat is that you cannot pull another RSR FP at that point because your first RSR FP window has not yet opened. If the return time had been at 11:45 am, then you'd be able to pull your next FP at 11:45 am (because the time window opened before two hours had elapsed).

If you look at the bottom of the FP, it will (usually) tell you when you can get your next FP.
