I'm trying to decide how many days to get tickets for and what type. Normally at WDW I'm a Park Hopper ticket person. However, I'll be in DL this weekend with my nephew for a total of 6 days (Wed.-Mon). I have other sightseeing plans scheduled as my nephew has never been to California before. There are none of the days where we would spend open to close in the parks. Here is the anticpated schedule.

Day 1 arrive at DL around 4-5PM
Day 2 going whale watching in the morning. return to DL around 4-5PM
Day 3 all day bus tour of LA & Hollywood
Day 4 go to park at opening, but leave around dinner time (have to rest for 1/2 marathon)
Day 5 get to park around noon. Stay all day is crowds not to crazy
Day 6 get to park at opening. Stay until 3-4 pm then get ready to go to airport.

So, since I won't be in the parks ALL day long, would it make more sense to get a 5-day 1 park per day ticket instead of a hopper? That way we could go into the parks in the evening of day 1&2 and spread out when we do things instead of trying to rush through in a few days.

Looking at the DL website, I can get a 5-day 1park per day cheaper than a 3-day park hopper. I'm staying on-site so can use EE on the days we're going in the morning.

I'm just so used to park-hopping that I'll have to change my mindset for this DL trip.

On one hand, hopping at DLR is so much easier because the parks are directly across from each other. So if you like hopping, you'll probably love it at DLR.

On the other hand, because your plans for visiting each park seems limited (evenings, partial days), so it might be a little easier with a non-hop ticket and visiting one park at a time. That's my reaction.

Totally agree with that : Park Hopping at Disneyland Resrot is so easy. It makes the extra dollars spend totally worth it when you get out of Splash Mountain and five minutes later, you're in line for Tower of Terror!
