Does anybody know when how far in advance the schedule for Dl comes on on their web site. I will be going in June & there schedule is not out yet. I always remember it being out quite a bit earlier. We are planning to go on a Wed & Thurs because that is what I was told was the slowest days, but I saw that they close at 8pm. Do they still run Fantasmic & the parades during those days, or only on the weekends? Thanks

normally (i.e. in past years) the hours would already be up ... but www.miceage.com is reporting that the hours are being reworked for May/June therefore not posted yet. Rumor that DL will close at 11pm instead of midnight.......

As for Fantasmic! - the Rivers of America are still closed, with another possible week or two to go (???) - miceage is also reporting that although when the rivers reopen Fantasmic! will be running, it might be "down" for 2 weeks near the end of June as the prep for the Pirates of the Caribbean movie event that'll be taking place in DL.

The summer season usually starts in the middle of June, so there would be parades/fireworks/late hours after that point.

You didn't say when in June you're going, but if you're going early in the month, it's still not considered "peak season." There may be a Grad Night or something the day you checked since the park closes early. I think Grad nights are usually on Wednesdays and Thursdays in late May and early June.

Thanks, the hours were up, they say that they will close at 8p.:( But they didn't have the entertainment schedule, all the parades & shows & things up. That is why I was wondering if Fantasmic was running. I would assume not since they will be closing at 8p. But I had never gone in June, so I didn't know how it worked. I'm sorry, we will be there June 11th & 12th. We always go in April & I guess that is peak season, because it always was opened until midnight, so we never worried about all the shows & stuff. & this time we have no choice on when we go, because we will be there mostly for a family reunion. So I am bummed that they will be closing early & possibly no shows. Thanks for your help. Cristen

cristen, the week you're going is actually the last week before the summer season starts. :( You've probably also caught a Grad night in your dates, as the park usually doesn't close till 10 p.m. that time of year.

If you could go that weekend (13th-15th) or anytime the following week, the hours would be longer and there would be parades and fireworks running each night.

On the positive side, the weather is cooler in early June, and there are fewer crowds. :)

I know what a bummer the timing of it. The 13th-15th is the reunion in San Diego. Then we leave that Sunday. I was thinking of going also the Saturday before. My DH refuses to go on the weekend in June, so I might brave it & the take the girls by myself on Saturday. Then all go back again that Wed & Thurs. It doesn't say that the rivers of america are down that time. It just doesn't have the times for any shows either. So hopefully on the Sat we will be able to see everything. Thanks again Cristen

Probably a dumb question, but what is the Rivers of America? I know what Fantasmic is and I'm assuming Fantasmic takes places on the Rivers of America, but is there more to it than that? I'm confused!

cristen, I just wanted to add that we'll be there the same time as you. I know its a bummer about the shows, etc. but I think (hope) the smaller crowds will make it worthwhile. Have fun!

The Rivers of America is the water that circles Tom Sawyer Island. The Mark Twain Riverboat and the Columbia ship "sail" in the water. That is where the do the show at night.

I have never been to DL when there wasn't shows or parades. So I hope that I am not disappointed. Can you be at DL? And is there ever really small crowds at that place? I am not convinced that because it is reagular season that the crowds will be small. But I will of course have fun no matter. I hope you have fun!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Is this your first time?

No, this isn't our first time, but our last time was about 4 years ago.

We lived in So. Calif. from 1989-1991 and went 4 times during that time period. Looking forward to going back!!! We bought the 5 days for the price of 3 tickets so we should have plenty of time! :D
