Hi there..looking to go in July and want to do DL & San Diego....have never been to either. Trying to decide which to do first......is it better to fly into SDiego...do Sea World and Zoo (2 days) and then drive to DL for 4 days and fly back out of SDiego?

Thanks!

Also my son and husband want to squeeze in a baseball game (either Padres or Angels)

We are going in July too.. so far our plan is DL for 3 days, then drive to san diego and do 2 days there and then back to DL for 2 days. Flying into John Wayne in Orange county is sorta inbetween...

it's approximately a 2 hour drive between DL and SD. depending on which airport will give you the cheapest fare...that might be an option. :sunny:

Some airlines to Southern California let you fly into one and out of the other without a penalty. And, some of the car rental companies are good about "one way" rentals, too. You might not have to drive back to your original airport.

I would try to plan my trip so that my days @ Disneyland are during the week vs. the weekend. It will be not be quite as crowded and the nice thing about going during the summer is that you don't miss any of the parades/fireworks by not going on the weekends. You may save a bit of money on the hotels as well.

All the advice above is good - although if you skip Disney on the weekend that probably means you end up in Seaworld on the weekend, where crowds will be just as big an issue.

We did Disney first, then the Zoo and Seaworld. The Zoo and Seaworld are very good, but after Disney, a bit of a letdown - nothing compares with Disney. So my advice would be to do San Diego first then end on a high with Disney, or, take the plan above of a few days at Disney, a break in San Diego, then back to Disney to redo your favourite rides.

We went last summer and did 3 nights at DL first then 5 nights in San Diego. We flew in and out of San Diego. After getting up and being at the park gates at 7:30 am each day, it was nice to relax and hang out in San Diego afterward. Both my husband and myself thought that doing DL first was a good idea. We made sure we hit DL midweek and then drove to San Diego on a Friday. The only issue with coming in on Friday was that there seemed to be a lot of people checking in for the weekend. We stayed in Mission Beach so I guess that is a popular destination on weekends in the summer. By Sunday night things calmed down (Beach, crowds, etc.). We were able to take in a Padres game during the weekend. I highly recommend that. Also if the Angels are in town during your DL stay, the stadium is right around the corner from DL. We are planning on repeating this next summer (going to WDW this summer) and we will do DL first again.

I don't think tickets have gone on sale yet, but I think the Angels website is Angelsbaseball.com. You'd have to check the schedule to see if they have home games when you're in the area.

The schedule is up for August 2005 on their website but it looks as if tickets are not available for purchase yet. The website for the Angels is www.anaheimangels.mlb.com Hope a home game corresponds with your trip!

OOps! Sorry the website above won't link you and I see that iceskatejen beat me to it!!

I am from Australia and this is my first post. I am planning to take my two boys and wife to Hawaii, Disneyland, San Diego Sea World and Zoo, then go to East Coast and WDW and SeaWorld in Florida.
Should we do the San Diego Sea World and Zoo or the Orlando SeaWorld?
The Traveller :D

 The Traveller would you adopt me.. I could be your tour guide???

How old are your boys? Check out LegoLand..it is inbetween SD and DL.

As for your Sea World questions - depends on how much everyone likes animals and the shows. We love Sea World and would do both, others will feel that it is not necessary.

Sorry Geffric but adoption rules too tough over hear in Oz.

Just thinking if you or any of fellow cyber-dis'rs would know say in about 3rd of September - Does Disneyland have fireworks during week. It would be your Autumn if I am not mistaken.
Cheers
TT. :earboy2:

Greetings - another Australian here just back from west coast.

I can't tell you which Sea World is best as I've never been to Florida, but we really loved the one in SD. Above all though, make sure you see the zoo, it really is an amazing place.
