DL response re: the #1 mystery pin

E-mail I rec'd regarding the suspicions of a re-release of the #1 DL mystery pin.

Thank you for requesting information about Disneyland Resort merchandise.

We do not re-release or re-issue Mystery Pins. However, we do accept pin returns, which then can be re-sold. Because many Guests purchase in large quantities, which may be returned in large quantities, this can appear as a re-release.

Ya wanna know a little more history behind the DL Mystery Pins... Most of them have no artist attached to them if any of them. For the most part they are copys of Clip Art out in the open... That is right. If you look at some Clip Art on some of the bigger sites you will see they match the Pins. And also some of the Disney Art Programs you can buy in Wal-Mart.

HUM.. Did anyone say marketing frenzy at its best?

I am one who firmly believes that many of the most beautiful pins were made into simple, humble, common racks.

Have you guys ever noticed that the DisneyLand Rack pins are better than most of the LE's and mystery pins they have put out in the last 6 months? I mean they have beautiful rack pins very imaginative and yet their LE pins they put out at the holidays consist of character in bunny suits and characters shooting arrows and such... DCA pins are cool which makes me think they don't have the same marketer over their... Just my 2 cents...
