DL Pales in comparison to WDW

I must say I do like WDW over the DLR in general but there are things at DL I like better than at MK. But I agree that DLP is AMAZING!!!! The castle and overall beauty of the park exceeds both DL and MK. Also I agree that WDS is garbage lol.

Every time ive been on HM the CM says "Kindly drag your body to the DEAD center of the room" I have never found them to not be in character or very into their job. It might be just me but I go to DL at the very least twice a year and have never had an issue with ANY CM not enjoying/having enough training/disappointed/bored with their job, in fact, interacting with the CM's are my DH and my favorite thing to do while there.

But I understand if WDW has your heart....I feel the same way about my home state and DL...
I definitely agree with this- Disneyland has just as much cast-member acting as I have experienced at WDW in the past. Perhaps, the reason why people don't enjoy the other parks as much as their home parks is because they are constantly drawing a mental comparison- the parks are not meant to be the exact same, they have vast differences in some aspects and in others only subtle nuances, but they are all worthy of appreciation, IMO

I disagree here. At least for us, it wasn't about drawing a comparison and finding the other park lacking. We enjoyed WDW but it wasn't the best time of our lives, for the some of the reasons Hydroguy mentioned earlier--I found the degree of planning and research required so far in advance to be very stressful, particularly having to choose restaurants I'd never eaten at, locking myself into a specific time and place months in advance or else we wouldn't have gotten to eat at any table service restaurants at all. I really disliked the way the resort was so sprawling NOT because I found it inferior to Disneyland's convenience, but because it was very difficult for us to park hop (I had received bad advice about needing to buy park hoppers when single park tickets would have been entirely sufficient) and because it was really hard to fit around DS's necessary naps. I disliked that we wasted so much time just getting from place to place and we found ourselves waiting a long time for buses, and I REALLY disliked the night it took us an hour and a half to get from our dinner restaurant (Boma) back to our resort (Wilderness Lodge) when we were already exhausted due to having to wait for buses and transfer buses at DTD and some very strange and unusual (I assume) CM directions. There were a few other things as well, but those were the main issues.

In other words, the bad experiences we did have at the resort were almost entirely due to the mechanics of the resort--planning and getting around, mostly. Will we go back? Absolutely! Am I dying to go back? No. We plan to wait until DS is about 5 or so (he's 2.5 now) to eliminate the nap problem and renting a car to eliminate the transportation problem. I feel pretty much 100% certain that we will have a better time the next time. It's not that we had a BAD time--inside the parks were great and we had a number of magical experiences. It was really the resort that we didn't like. Which for many people, is exactly what they DO like. :confused3 That's where subjectivity comes into play.

I did find most of the attractions at MK to be not as great as DL's counterparts with the notable exception of Winnie the Pooh and attractions we don't have anymore like the Country Bear Jamboree and Peoplemover. That said, I thought Epcot and AK took DCA out behind the woodshed and beat it to a pulp. Even if Epcot were no more than just the World Showcase, it would still be better than DCA. I think DCA 2.0 is a big improvement and that eventually DCA will become a great park, but it's not there yet where Epcot definitely is.
