So I've purchased my annual pass on-line, which means that I've printed out the paper with the barcode to scan. I understand that I take this to the turnstiles just like a regular park hopper and they give me a paper ticket as a temporary annual pass.

How and when do I get the plastic card with my picture as a more durable annual pass or are they not doing that any more?

Thanks!

When you arrive at the park, check the ticket booths. If the lines are short, stop and get your hard AP. If the lines are long, use the paper ticket, and later in the day, go to the ticket booth to get your AP. The plastic cards no longer have pictures.

If you have time in the morning, I'd just take it to the ticket booth. They will be able to enter in all the info and give you your real AP, then you go on into the parks and have a photopass person take your picture that gets associated with the AP.

DS and I had one-day tickets that we were going to upgrade, and we just stopped at the ticket booth, since it seemed easiest. I made sure to pick a line that was sort of hidden, and had no line.

I agree with Bumbershoot and malcon, if you have time and lines are short, get it out of the way then. You have to do it that first day, same with the picture, but they no longer put the picture on the AP. It just pops up on the screen, when they scan you in. Since it wasn't too busy, we just went to the first photopass photographer we saw and got that out of the way too. They just scan your AP the pic shows up later in the day.

I'm curious, what's the expiration date on your voucher? (for my own future plan).

I got my vouchers the first part of this month and they expire Dec 31,2012.

Does anyone know how long the vouchers are good for? I was wondering because I'm thinking of buying annual passes before they possibly go up in price this summer but wouldn't use them til next February.:confused3

Don't know the answer, but we got ours early February and they have the same December 31, 2011 expiration date as the other poster.

From what I understand the vouchers are good until the end of the calendar year, regardless of when you buy them. They are not activated until your first visit, and the actual AP expires 1 year from the date of activation.

You already got great advice, but I just wanted to warn you to check the expiration date on your hard pass before leaving the ticket booth. We didn't and they had the date we bought the passes online, not the date we activated. We went back and they were happy to fix the problem, and were very apologetic, but it was still a headache.

Great advice! Glad I had seen this advice when we got ours. Same thing happened, but I checked the cards before leaving the booth and they fixed them.

Thanks for all the responses. It puts my mind at ease because we want to purchase our vouchers before the price increase this summer but won't activate them until possibly December.
