We are booking a trip to DL and would like input on what towers or areas of hotels to request at the DL or DCH. Do the rooms have refrig with freezer. We are traveling with infants and need ice paks for bottles. Any suggestions?

All the Disneyland resort hotels onsite have refrigerators in the rooms. My personal favorite is the Disneyland Hotel, and any of the towers would be a good choice as long as you have a 'view' room. Only one, I think it is the Bonita tower, has one side that only faces parking lots and sprawl view. The Grand Californian is right in DCA and Downtown Disney. The Pradise Pier Hotel has nice rooms but it isn't as pleasant to stay there as the others. You can get lots of Disneyland-specific advice on the Disneyland Discussion Board

Are there any towers that are more convenient to walking to the parks or the pool? Also I have read posts concerning upgrades do you know anything about these? We are regulars at WDW so I feel like such a novice with disneyland.

At Disneyland Hotel, the pool (which is great, by the way :) ) is right in the middle, between the 3 towers. It isn't like WDW, where everything is spread out over long distances. Downtown Disney is right there, you walk through DD to get to the parks, which are right next to each other. It is all very compact. :) The Bonita Tower is only very slightly farther than the others. Still walking distance.

I have only stayed in regular rooms, but my experience has been that, when using DVC points, they give you the best available room, it isn't like they stick you in the back corner. I haven't tried the suites or concierge service, but you might ask over on the Disneyland Board. Of course, the Grand Californian is right in between DCA and DD, so of course it is the closest to the parks. It is a lovely place, but I haven't stayed there yet.... I'm partial to the location of the Disneyland Hotel.

If you happen to book at the Disneyland Hotel, make sure that you book a Park View so that you can watch the fireworks from your room, if you so choose. My wife and I first got a "fireworks view" which meant that we had to lean out the window to see the fireworks from our room. When pushed, the front desk switched us to a "park view" and we watched the show from this point all 3 nights that we stayed there!
