We want to plan a trip to DL in October. I am having trouble, I am used to WDW trips. Has DL released info on their Halloween parties? When does HM re-open with the NBC overlay?

Thanks all!

PAT MC

The Halloween Treat parties are usually scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights from late September until the last week of October, when they run more frequently.

The HM layover will be completed sometime late September and open October through New Years.

I also head to WDW every year for Halloween and we've decided to jump in and try DLR this year... I am still confused about the DLR halloween party and will be anxious to hear any advice people have for you. We were also going to hit universal and possibly the halloween party at knott's 'Scary' farm... It can be an intimidating task when we're so used to WDW.... hope your trip works out!

I'm doing the same thing, after many trips to WDW, I'm heading back to DLR in October. From what I understand, Disneyland the park has special decorations and party stuff as part of regular admissions on select weeknights in October. There is also a hard ticket party in CA some nights after regular hours. If you order on line, they were $26 last year, way cheaper than MNSSHP. We hope to do both. Anybody have any guesses about dates for the parties at CA?

We've done Mickey's Halloween Treat on Halloween for the past 2 years and LOVED it. It is a hard ticket event at DCA, they have trick or treat stations set up all over, areas for music and dancing (kid friendly), they play kid friendly halloween music throughout, the rides are open, decorations are up, it's FUN. In DL they have decorations and holiday stuff. In the Ranch they do Woody's Halloween ROund up with stories and crafts, I love it there, it's usually nice and quiet.

I called Disney Guest Services recently, regarding The Haunted Mansion overlay, which by the way I completely cannot stand, as a result the thought of going to DL Sep.-Dec. is completely ruined for me,and it does matter very much to me, and many other people as well, that are HM purists, or are close enough.

Normally, the day after Labor Day, so Tuesday, is when the HM shuts down for the nbc terrorista takeover, then by mid-September it re-opens, as nbc, and it runs until January, when at that time, it closes again, and by mid-Jan. re-opens to the normal HM.
Those Halloween parties, is the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party.Which you need to purchase tickets for. You should check out Disneys website.

And for some Halloween info, from Disney's site:

Thanks for your help and responses.

It is just so different planning DL vs WDW. WDW seems to release info earlier, so that helps us compulsive planners.
