I am planning a trip for the beginning of January and I will have to take one of my dogs on the trip. She will be one year old next month and she is up to date on all of the shots that the Disneyland Kennel requires. I adopted her from a rescue in June. She had already received all of her shots before I adopted her and I have copies of the paperwork for the vaccinations.

However, since she got her distemper and hepatitis vaccinations when she was with her previous owners and got her rabies vaccination when she was with the rescue, my name is nowhere on the paperwork. Also her name is different on the paperwork because we changed it when we adopted her. Does anyone know if there will be a problem with the kennel accepting this paperwork for my dog? I have to bring her on the this trip but I don't want to have to leave her in her crate at the hotel.

Requirements for Dogs

The Disneyland Kennel Club and the County of Orange require rabies, distemper and hepatitis vaccination certificates from your veterinarian in order to board dogs over 4 months of age.

In order for your dog to be boarded at DL. you will need to show proof of the above vaccinations.

The distemper and hepatitis shots show your dogs former name on paper work. I would imagine that should not be a problem, for you adopted this dog, and have proof of that change in ownership. Have that document handy to show. If a different document needs to be issued by the adoption agency in order to take care of the above, then make sure to receive that from them.

The rabies vaccination was taken care of by the adoption organization, and again will have proper proof of this certificate. They can also show that you changed the animals name upon adoption. I would work on this matter, and also call DLKC to ask them the same thing and tell them what you are planning on doing to take care of their requirements and if that will suffice.

Maybe you could have your current vet update the record and give you a current certificate of vaccination that will list all of the shots and your dog's current given name. Safe travels:thumbsup2
