DL in August

is there any day of the week that could possibly less crowded?

Is the last week of August quieter than the earlier parts of the summer?

This far out, it's hard to guess what things will be like in the parks. For August, I think it's hard to guess what crowds will be like because schools go back in session in August (staggered throughout the month) and the parks begin to transition to their non-peak season schedule, but at the same time, the summer-long SoCal and SoCal Select AP blockout also ends (8/19/18 is the last day). So I would guess (nominally) that mornings on weekdays (folks are working and in school) will be less busy than evenings (after school and after work) and weekends (Fri afternoon through Sun). I personally think you might see lower crowds the last week of the AP blockout than the week(s) after...

All very good info. I am looking to book flights for July or August to visit family in Irvine so I'm trying to plan around one DL visit day. Will be a solo visit so crowds aren't TOO big of a deal since the kids won't be with me. Thanks!

Last year (2016) we went the last week of August, flew home the Friday of the Labor Day weekend. The parks were a lot quieter than we are used to, we got so much done!!!

We went the 1st 2 weeks of August in 2016 and it was fine.

There is a weekend in mid-August when SoCal APs come off block that could be busy. I've gone many times in August and its usually pretty reasonable crowd-wise.

We went last week of August last summer. Crowds were pretty good but I have nothing to compare it to. Note though that it was very hot so I'm sure that scared some away. Also, last week Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were closed to the overlay...if that's important to you.

Another vote for the last week of August. We had manageable crowds during our visit but it was indeed hot (mid to high 90s) the entire week.

Its usually hot as fire in August and early September.

We went the second week of August this year and it was normal summer busy...crowded but manageable. We lucked out and it wasn’t super hot.
