Sorry, I couldn't find this in the super thread.

We are staying at the DL hotel for the first time after the renovation. (I won this trip). Anyway, we cannot get our tickets until 8 am. early magic hours start at 8 (opening time at 9 am). Will it be faster to take the monorail. (I am guessing it will be around 815? ) will the monorail be open for EMM?

Also, how is the chair situation at the pool mid-day. Is there a best time to go?

Thanks!
Nancy

I'm curious as to why you can't get your tickets before 8 am? Is that due to when you're arriving, or??? If you check in to the hotel in the morning, you can buy/pick up your park tickets right at the front desk. (Perhaps this isn't true since you won the trip? :confused3)

We have a trip planned in September, staying at DLH. I called to inquire about EMH the day of our arrival, and they said no problem...just check in to the hotel in the am, pick up our tickets/room keys and go! :)

I am not sure if the monorail is open during EMH...but if it is, it would certainly be the quickest way into the parks from the DLH...and since it drops at Tommorowland in DL (one of two lands open during EMH) it would be a great plan!

I'm not sure on how busy the pools get. We reserved a cabana for when we hit the pools in September, but that's because my father-in-law wants to watch TV and my mother-in-law wanted guaranteed shade. :)

The packet that I received for Disney Promotions stated 8 am or later...otherwise I would be there early!

My question about the monorail was because I had heard that it is best to line up for Early entry at the front gate..not wait for the monorail because of how long it takes to wait for the next one. But, since I won't be there right at the beginning of Early entry will it be better timing and save our feet a bit. :) just wasn't sure if it is crazy crowded.?.

Thanks so much!

I would still get there early. I wouldn't be surprised if you could pick up your tickets before 8.

The monorail is good if you want to end up in the Nemo, Autopia, etcetera area.

I'd also go before 8am. Going there before 8am might get you your tickets early. If you don't get them early at least you tried.

If you don't get them early enough for front gates, then the Monorail would be a fine option. The Monorail gates at DTD have opened at the same time EE main gates open when we have been there.

Being at the Monorail DTD that early you'd surely get a seat. Sometimes later in the day, it can take awhile for open seats to move the line at DTD.

Congratulations on your win!!

Have a great time.

We don't usually take the monorail first thing in the morning because it is usually crowded and the entrance line is usually long. We find walking is usually best. If you walk by and the line isn't horrible, if you want to start your day in Tomorrowland it is a good option.

In our experience a few weeks ago, the chair situation at the pool mid-afternoon is not good. If you are lucky, you might get one way in the back, or might catch someone leaving. We only went to the pool one day ( in the mid-afternoon) since we are generally park open to close people, so I can't tell you how it "usually" is. That day the chairs were really full. There were NONE at the slide pool at all, but I did pick up two on the back row at the normal pool.

Don't count on the monorail as transportation. We stayed at the DLH in July, and every time we tried to use the monorail it was down. We were there for 3 days and ended up using the monorail 1 time.

At the DL Hotel front desk.

Even though you won the trip I don't see why they wouldn't have everything well before 8am.

I'd check with the front desk around 7am to see if it was possible. All they can say is no.

Good luck

I would call, and politely inquire it there is a reason for 8am or if this can be arranged for earlier.

Check in early...there is no time limit on the day of pick up. You can "check in" as early as 6am and they will give you your room key then text you mid day with the room # when you room is actually ready.
