Just thought I would ask if there is a room with a bad view at the DL Hotel, I know you can pay more and get a room with a view but if you don't pay the extra, what are your chances of getting a room with a yucky view and what is a yucky view. Thank You.:)

On a previous trip we had a standard room in what is now the Magic Tower (I believe that is what it is; it is the building with the registration desk), and our view was of the port cochere over the main entrance. However, it was a nice sized room.

Our most recent trip we had a "standard" room in the Dreams Tower, and it was on the second floor with a pool view. Definitely not my favorite room. It was a) smaller than the room we had in the other tower, and b) the noise from the walkway between the building and the pool was pretty obnoxious.

(My friends' "pool view" room higher up in the Dreams Tower was a much nicer room in terms of size and being too high to have the noise be a problem.)

We have only ever had a pool view and would like to know the answer to this as well.

Also, (not to hijack but hopefully this will help you too jnjusoioa!) is it possible to get a room upgrade upon check-in like they do in Vegas (perhaps with a little tip)?

My ds and I got an upgrade to a DTD view on the 8th floor of the Dreams Tower (and no, we didn't tip), I was just super polite to the CM at check-in and reminded them it was my ds' birthday.

We've stayed at the DLH twice, the first time paying for a pool view room (like others, it was on a higher floor, 8th or 9th.) Most recently we booked a standard room; I think it was 3rd floor pool view, right over one of the building entrances, and lots of noise from the walkway and pool areas.

If you're going at a less busy time, you probably will have good luck getting a view room without paying extra. However, if you know you're going at a busy time and truly want the view, you probably will want to pay for it.
