I'm new to your forum but have enjoyed reading all the great tips.
My question is which hotel is better, the Disneyland Hotel or Par. Pier? We have been to DL several times but never the Disney Hotels. I've always done it as cheap as possible but this time I have more money and want to know if its worth it? Any input would be great. Thanks! ::MinnieMo

Welcome to the DIS! I've always felt that the DLH captures that "Disney Magic". Although we never stayed there before, PPH just didn't do anything for us. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the DLH...

the flip side of that being that sometimes you can get PP for less than$100 a night on expedia. At that rate it is well worth a try.

The Paradise Pier Hotel is my hotel. I love the theme, I love the cast members, I've always enjoyed my stays. But I think that the answer is only something that you can come up with. Do you live in a place where you see "beach" theming a lot? Do you want a bit more luxury? Do you love the Neverland Pool? Do you want to be a bit closer to the monorail/Downtown Disney? Yes answers indicate that you might enjoy the Disneyland Hotel more.

If you're interested, I can probably come up with threads where this very thing has been discussed. I also have a link to a photo tour of the Paradise Pier. Just let me know!

Thank you all for the info. We are not going until Oct. 2005 but I like to get things planned in advance. If you know of any threads about the differences in the hotels that would be great, but not too many.
Thanks...

We adore the PPH. I will not stay anywhere else. I have stayed at the DLH years ago and actually found the hallways to be dark and gloomy compared to PPH. I also like the fact that there is a guarantee that I will stay in a tower that has a coffee bar, gift shop, and restaurant downstairs. I don't like the "lobby" areas of the Sierra and Bonita towers because there is no hustle and bustle. We go back to the room during the heat of the day and I don't want to have to take a hike to go get a coffee, candy or a soda. We love the character breakfast being right downstairs. We actually find that now that you can walk through the Grand, I'm not sure that they walk to DL is any closer than it is from DLH.......esp the tower near the waterfalls. JMO, of course, and I do think that it is something that would really have to do with your personal preference. Good luck with whatever you choose!
