DL Half Race Reports!

I love reading all the reports.

I am sorry I missefd the DIS meets, had my 22 yo DS and this was our only trip together so I spent so Mom/Son time. It was nice to reconnect with him.

I agree with everyone about being crowded through certain points. I was actually having a good real run and had to stop in the castle, too congested. That was a bummer.

My time was a bit off, my DS waited for me at mile 11 so we could finish together. Next thing I know he wasn't there. I thought he decided to walk while I actaully ran the last mile. I kept stopping and waiting for him - WELL DUH!! Yeah he was gonna let his 45yo Mom outdo him - SURE! He had already finished. So I spent about 5 minutes lagging around waiting.

Still did better than WDW, cut my pace from 14:49 to 14:26 so I was happy but I could have been closer to 14:00 - my goal for Jan.

I did have a great time, though. Can't wait til WDW, I will be solo so can really have fun meeting everyone.

These reports are awsome! I love all the pictures. Thanks so much for putting all the effort into letting us "non DL halfers" experience the race, too!

I'm sorry to hear there were some downers, but overall it sounds like it was a great race.

And I might add, our shirts are AWSOME! They practically glow in the dark. They stand out more than any other shirt in the field.

Are we a great team or what???

You can definitely pick the WISH shirts out in the race. Anne was so far ahead that I could pick her out by her hat and shirt (she had on an orange? colored hat) The shirts are great! I love that they say WISH on them too because I saw a few people in green shirts that I just didn't know if they were or not!

Doesn't Kermit say something along the lines of "It's great to be green"???

Can't wait till January to see the rest of the group, it was like a WISH gathering spotting everyone in green. And considering it was the 1st DL race they did do an excellent job. I'm sure it will only get better and better. They had the oddest corral start but even though Susan was at the front of D and I was at the front of E we didn't cross the start all that far apart. They really had that start seem like they had practiced it over and over again to get the E corral into the stream as fast as they could. They can only improve as they grow

I agree about the shirts, I was walking back to the Candy Cane after the race after the race and could see a wish shirt coming up that road from the Angels way, way back, well before I could work out that it was Cam wearing it!!!

Great photos and reports! Don't know why they moved the race in 07 to Labor Day. Now might not do it in 08.
