We are looking to fly into LAX in Feb. I called the DL Express number given me by DLH. The girl was vague. She said no reservations required. She also said that you don't pay until you get to the hotel. Is this true? I would love to hear your experiences with them. I read a really bad review online, but it was only one. I would love to hear the unbiased DIS views! Thank you!

We have used the Disneyland Express many times.
It is true that you do not need reservations and you do not pay when you board the bus.
Basically, the driver loads your luggage, asks which hotel you are going to and you get on the bus. It then proceeds around the airport picking up other passengers until you do all the terminals.
Then it goes directly to Anaheim where it first stops at the Disneyland Hotel where someone else boards the bus and collects the fares. It then proceeds to all the hotels.
It can take a long time to go around the airport depending on your terminal and it can also take a while to deliver to all the hotels depending on where your hotel is in the order that they drop off.
However, after two bad experiences with the Super Shuttle where we travelled through neighbourhoods dropping off locals and the driver got lost, I would rather at least get to Anaheim and travel around there. It does give you a good idea of where all the other hotels are!
The biggest reason, however, we choose the Disneyland Express is that we feel safer on it and we don't need a booster seat for our little one!

Thank you both for your info! :lovestruc We are staying at the DLH, so it's nice to know we're the first stop. Is that also the first stop going back to the airport, or is it the last stop?

OK I'm having a hard time figuring out the answer to that exact question. :)

The bus goes around the various hotels THEN goes to DLH, and it departs from DLH to the airports.

Right. When staying @ DLH, you never have to travel to other hotels to pick up/drop off. You'll be the first to be dropped off, the last to be picked up. :)

How much is the super shuttle to Anaheim from LAX?

I just used their fare quote system...

When I just put in the zip code 92802 I get vastly higher rates than when I get hotel-specific.

Since it pertains to my upcoming trip, I used both Motel 6 and Paradise Pier as the hotel to be taken to, and I got $16 for the first rider in your party and 16 per person after that. (so 16 per person, LOL).

I'll still be doing DE b/c we have no interest in bringing DS's carseat, and that means we're takin' the bus!

But don't forget that you can get coupons for SuperShuttle...the Entertainment Book had a coupon the last two years and probably does now, too.

We have used the DL Express 4 or 5 times with no problem. We used it again in October from LAX to Anaheim, with no problem. On our return to LAX we were picked up at HOJO's on a completely empty bus and delivered to the DLH where we waited and waited and waited with a group of about 15 other folks waiting for the same bus. It arrived more than a 45 minutes behind schedule with only 4 seats remaining on the bus. It had apparently been caught in traffic. We were fortunate enough to get a seat, but barely made it to the airport in time. If we wouldn't have got a seat - like the other 11 folks that were left standing there, we would have missed our flight. :scared:
