DL Express back to SNA

I need some advice...

We have a 3:50 pm departure on a Sunday afternoon out of SNA. The Northwest website advises to be at the airport 75 minutes before departure - 2:35 pm. We can depart GCH at 12:45 pm for a tentative 1:30 pm arrival at SNA or depart GCH at 1:45 pm for a tentative 2:30 pm arrival at SNA.

Would we really be pushing it taking the 1:45 DL Express? Thanks!

Maybe I'm an optimist, but I'd take the later bus. SNA is pretty low key; you're not going to encounter huge lines for security or anything. We flew out on a Friday afternoon, no problem. Personally I hate sitting around in airports waiting, so unless you've got toddlers, babies, tons of luggage to juggle,and/or disabilities issues, I think I'd opt for the later one. In fact with toddlers I'd probably do it that way anyway, less waiting is good for everybody.

Seems like it takes 25 mins from the HoJO to get to sna. The do give extra time incase of flat tire or so on. If me I would go on later shuttle. The airport is small -- SNA--- so easy in and out. You are able to confirm flight night before using the pcs provided at HOJO. That will knock 15 mins off your time to check in . Have fun

I agree with Avalon451. SNA is a small airport. We got to the airport and were looking around to find the security line - oh, whoops! There wasn't one! It was a Sunday morning and there wasn't even a wait. We buzzed right through.

We love SNA. Small airport, hardly any lines. Our average time to check baggage and go through security is 15-20 minutes, if that. On a Sunday afternoon, it should take less than a half hour to get from GCH to SNA. I vote for the later bus.

I am hijacking this thread a bit.. but
Has anyone used the express bus recently? How do they get you to the Hojo... I seem to remember several years ago their little transfer station MIGHT have been right next to the HOJO, so you didn't need to actually transfer to another bus? Anybody know?

We are thinking this might be the best choice to avoid bringing a car seat.

Is a shuttle the best way to get from DL to SNA for 4 people? How much is it compared to a taxi?

Taxi is $40 flat one way. I'd do that instead of the bus, because the bus stops at the 3 DL hotels first, then at the other hotels. It can take awhile to get to your hotel. A taxi will cost approximately the same and be door-to-door. The return trip isn't the flat fee; it will cost you around $50-55. Still worth it.

Super Shuttle or one of the other shuttle services are another option. It's a little less expensive. It's $10 per person, and if you use a coupon which gets you $2 off per person (last coupon on the list here: http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp ), each way will cost you $32 plus tip. They're not always the fastest, and if there's other parties on the bus they will stop at the closer hotel first; but you've got a pretty good chance of being the only ones on your shuttle.

SNA is only about 20 minutes from DL, so if you left at 1:45, you should be there in plenty of time. However, I don't know how many stops the Express bus makes after picking you up at 1:45. If you're the last pickup before heading to the airport, you should be fine. If you're the first stop, and they have to stop by several other hotels, it would obviously take longer. SNA is an easy airport to get through, though, so you shouldn't have long lines to deal with.

Could someone please clarify the driving times for me?? We are staying at the Best Western Park Suites (?) and according to Google it is 1.5 hours from SNA to Disneyland.

As we are travelling with 4 kids ages 2 thru 8 the shorter the driving times the better. TIA

We just did the Disneyland Express bus to SNA yesterday. Yes, sadly our trip is over but it was Great!! The bus was right on time. They pick up everyone that is going to the airport and take them to the Disneyland Hotel. Those of use going to SNA had to transfer to another bus waiting there, while those going to LAX stayed on that bus. It was very painless! It actually took less time to get to the airport than there schedule allows. There are cheaper options, but for us it was worth it not having to bring carseats along! Check in at SNA is super fast, it is a great airport.
