DL Dining run by Grumpy??

hmm, Disneyland has changed since i started working. Its quite different and a new face seems to be different. their objective seems different too. Its too complicated to say.

As a general rule most CM's are nice in my opinion. I mean I understand there are days that anyone can have an off day. No one is on everyday. One thing that I am always amazed at the way some cast members look surprised when you tell them to have a good day.

I always think its amazing when people say they've had bad experience with CMs. I've had SUCH good ones. I remember ONE bad experience with an Indiana Jones CM, he was just rude...but other than that, they are wonderful! So wonderful I've written the corporation on two separate occasions because of such nice things.

While I agree it is getting very difficult to find good customer service (I actually almost strangled the guy at the bank today...) you also have to realize that the general public is getting more and more rude, and those people have to deal with it everyday. It gets hard to put on a happy face when you're being yelled at for something you have no control over all day long.

I work with people everyday, and if everyone would just have a good attitude, all our experiences would be a whole lot better.

plus the parks have been WAY more crowded this year than last...so I'm sure the CMs are working a lot harder...

I dunno..I figure threat them well and they will treat you well. Kill em with kindness...

I've had good and bad experiences. Sadly my only good experience was with the first time I called. For any other reservations I've placed I've had everything from being rushed to just being bad. One lady forgot to put me on mute and I could hear her in the background talking to her supervisor about how I was driving her crazy with questions!!! All I wanted to know is what the options were for ordering a cake.

Lets also point out that despite having ordered that cake, for some reason when I arrived at storytellers for a birthday dinner, magically no cake was ordered!!! hm....

We've had the name spelled wrong on a cake after my calling more than once to make sure that it was spelled right. Thank goodness the Mad Hatter was on the ball. He noticed that the name on my daughters pin was spelled with a K and the spelling the cake had a C. He rushed to the kitchen got the icing and made a big deal out of correcting it. It actually was more fun this way because my daughter giggled and really enjoyed the Mad Hatter. Ever since then we have loved the Mad Hatter.

I think DL as good employees and not so good ones. When you employ thousands of people, it's not always easy to find the right "fit" every time. But I also know from experience that Disney Guests can be very demanding and rude. The get attitudes over the most stupid things.

In the case of a reservation like Disney Dining, I can only imagine the number of regular guests who call up and talk like Minnie Mouse or Snow White, tell their life stories to a phone operator and then get mad when that operator has to move on to the person on hold. If it's anything like some of the things I read on these boards, I feel very sorry for the Disneyland CM's.

I think Disney should move forward or move backwards with regards to the reservation system and priority seating. I much preferred Blue Bayou when you could not make a reservation and had to wait in line to get in. Another thought would be to put the entire system online and do away with the reservation system altogether. When I go to Disney, the only thing I "reserve" is my room, flight and car. I like the idea of enjoying the parks without a schedule.
