I originally booked the DL dining plan, but shortly after realized it wasn't a "deal", but rather a way to pre-pay more food than we'd eat. :) Cancelled it.

But now we're thinking of adding extra days to our visit, and suddenly we're wondering if it's possible to finagle the dining plan a bit.

Instead of staying just 3 nights, we're thinking of 5 nights. Is it possible to buy a lower number of days of the plan than you're staying? The dining plan for 3 days would be doable if spread out over 5 days, IMO. But can you do that?

And most importantly, can it be done if we leave the package we booked after the 3 nights, and book our own hotel for the other 2 nights?

Are the vouchers just vouchers, or are they dated vouchers?

Questions questions...felt like asking the experts before I call the employees. :rotfl:

Thanks in advance.

Yup! We got it last year, and I thought is was SUPER easy to use! We were doing 5 days at the park, and bought a 3 day meal plan. We used all the tickets, I know if we had just been going for 3 days we wouldnt have. They are just vouchers, not dated or anything, and you can use tham in any configuration that you want. They give you so many $10., $5. and I think a $15. If your meal comes to $40, you can use 4 $10. vouchers to pay for it! The snack vouchers are actually $6.. not 5, so I used them to buy Ice cream, and what not. The only down side is not being able to get change, but if you do it right... thats not a big deal. I would do it again, I like being able to have meals pre-paid! I hope I cleared this up for you a bit, if not... feel free to ask away!:thumbsup2

Yes, you absolutely explained it! Thank you!

It was the character breakfasts that were really doing us in for a shorter stay...through Costco we have one included, and that plus the "breakfast in the park" thing were just sending us into "tilt", food-speaking. :) Especially since our hotel has a little continental breakfast included!

Oh, speaking of that, how does the breakfast in the park voucher work? Actually, funny story, before I cancelled the plan, I thought that breakfast in the park meant the Minnie and friends character b'fast, so you can really see how I thought it was just TOO MUCH food....a few weeks after I cancelled I realized I'd been wrong...:rotfl:

The breakfast in the park voucher has a $$ value on it. Its around $8 (maybe 8.25?). Its just about enough to cover breakfast and a beverage at Carnation cafe, Riverbelle Terrace or Club buzz. I believe you could also apply it to breakfast at cafe orleans. Just be sure to read the fine print on the back of the voucher. It will tell you where you can use it, and the exact value.
