DL-Characters

Does anyone know of any active and inactive/retired Disneyland characters? I have been searching online and I have found everything from Disney World to Disneyland Paris, but not Disneyland (California). I would especially like to know if it is still possible to meet and take pictures with Aladdin and Jasmine, my recent trip through Aladdin's room was empty and roped off, and it is no longer listed on the map.

I used to know of an incredible page with a great layout of where, when and how to meet specific characters in DL. But a couple years ago the page stopped working.

I've seen Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie do meet and greets in that little area in adventureland that used to be the little story show thing. They really need to do something else with that place though.

Do you mean the "Aladdin's Oasis" near the Jungle Cruise and Bengal BBQ? We went by there last time and it was barren and roped off, it was however illuminated later that night if that means anything

We saw Aladdin and Jasmine at the "Oasis" in Adventureland last month. When you are in the parks, you can ask the CM at the end of main street (next to the wait time board) where/when certain characters will be out.

Aladdin was hanging out at the little oasis place near the jungle cruise last week. He was also periodically walking along between there and somewhere near pirates, stopping for pictures and signing autographs.

Something I noticed on this last trip that we thought was kind of neat, a lot of the characters were just roaming around in the parks stopping when people approached them. We saw Bert, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, Mickey and Minnie together, Goofy, Pluto, and the Mad Hatter all doing this. We had never seen them doing this on previous trips. We've seen them walking to/from their spots, but this seemed more like they were just wandering around the park. It was pretty cool.

If you are walking down main street toward the castle, it's on the left side near the castle hub.

So Aladdin's Oasis isn't closed? Maybe it's not on the map because it's just a meet and greet and not a big attraction like a ride? I am going back in November and would really like to find them there if I can


EDIT: Also has any DL veterans managed to see Bonkers the Bobcat in the last few years? I've seen pics of him with people on google, just never when I have visited the Kingdom.

I can't think of ANY Disney Afternoon characters that are out anymore, with the possible exception of Max in California Adventure (I've never seen him, but some people say they have). Gadget has a ride in DL and she hasn't been since maybe a few years after Toontown opened, so probably 10 years. I've never seen Bonkers in the parks but I imagine he must've been out while the show was on the air.

I'd guess this is because there are new PM cartoons like Phineas and Ferb, though so far they don't do regular M&Gs they will during Halloween Parties.

I would flip my lid if I was able to meet Darkwing Duck! He was my favorite hero for the longest time. If I could meet him and Robin Hood, I could never meet another character and still be happy!

Oh, I stand corrected...Aladdin IS meet-able. Aladdin's Oasis area, like others said. I was thinking of him as a movie character. Goofy is meet-able too, of course, though not in Goof Troop clothes.

(Chip and Dale are also meet-able, but they don't have clothes on at all, so I don't consider them the Disney Afternoon characters. )

I saw Rebecca once (at a distance, 1990s) but never met her...did meet Darkwing and Don Karnage (and yes, Gadget) back in the 1990s though. I'm not sure; I feel like one of those rare characters may have been out for the 56th anniversary "flash mob" or whatever they had in July...but it was just a quick thing, not a real meet-and-greet.
