Hi, Can some people give me their opinions on what they would do in my situation please? My son (5) and I are going to DL in September, I am a single mom. My son is a very active boy, ie we're doing a 5K run next weekend, he ran and walked for 40 minutes today, never stopping. I am torn between renting a stroller ($90) and hauling one down there. I think we'll be fine while we're at the park without one, but that walk back to the hotel, pretty sure I will want the stroller then.

I haven't traveled for years. I am thinking 2 small wheelie bags, that can go on the plane as our carry on's. Then one large wheelie back that will be checked, his booster seat will be in that. But other than that it'll pretty much be empty. Room for souvenirs on the way home. Then potentially the stroller as well. In Calgary I'm not too worried about things, cause I know I can get dropped off close to where you check your bags. However LA??? It's been close to 20 years since I've been to that airport.

Think it would be easy for one adult to handle a stroller, 2 wheelie bags and a stroller in LA? We are arriving after 9pm so the airport will be quieter. What would you guys do in my situation?

We just went to TDL with our DS5. He can be pretty lazy and so we had decided that we were definitely bringing the stroller with us. We have needed it on all of our previous trips because he gets pretty pooped out. However, somehow we forgot it at home and didn't realize it until we were at the airport. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because our DS5 surprised us all and did so good at walking everywhere. We didn't miss it at all, and it was great to not have to find stroller parking, or maneuver the stroller in crowds. I would leave the stroller at home and if you get there and find you need one after all, then just buy an umbrella stroller there. I saw a few in the hotel gift stores, and I for sure remember seeing one for about $40 at the Hojo gift store. This option would also be cheaper than renting one, and you could just leave it at the hotel and the end of your trip.

I know it is the more expensive option, but I would rent the stroller and have it waiting at your hotel for you. My sons need strollers for other reasons, but my thought is I am tired at the end of a park day, there little legs must be even more tired.

I will go grab the link for who we used in DL, but they were awesome. I like the higher quality strollers over the umbrella strollers that are cheaper. They push so much easier with an older child.

Here is who we used for our stroller. Worked great.

These are the people I was thinking of renting one from. I'm thinking while at the park it's going to be a pain in the butt most of the time. However that walk back to the hotel at night has me worried. I don't want to pack him.

LAX is a breeze to get in and out of with baggage and stroller. The elevators to baggage claim are on the right after you exit the main part of the terminal. The terminal is not the big at all. We did DL last year for 3 days and my 5yo walked/ran the entire time. I was surprised and figured I would end up carrying my 2yo so he could ride in the stroller.
