I'm finally starting a planning journal! We're not having a disney wedding though, so I feel a little silly but it will help me keep track!

The Proposal:

Justin and I met 4th of July, 3 years ago at work. We didn't date until about a year later. We became best friends right away, which was a little weird for us. Neither one of us had ever really had a boyfriend or girlfriend who was a best friend as well if that makes any sense! We went on a date December 17 last year to the zoo. He seemed pretty nervous all day so I thought something might be up! We had talked about engagement before and we both knew that we would end up married. I was just getting anxious for the proposal!

I was pretty sad by the end of the night because he never proposed and the zoo was closing. We went inside where they have this giant Christmas tree and were sitting there talking. I can't remember what he started to say, but it came out really serious and then people starting walking down the stairs so he ended up saying something completely off the wall. That's when I knew he was trying to propose! They made an announcement that the zoo was closed so we left.

I suggested we drive around and look at Xmas lights. We ended up at the local outdoor mall with the whole Xmas tree setup in the middle. We were sitting down looking at the awesome lights when he got down on one knee and proposed! I felt a little more relieved for him than anything! I had seen his hand in his pocket the whole night and he looked so nervous I was afraid he was going to get sick! So here we are!

I fell in love with my dress after seeing it online. I only tried on about 6 dresses and knew I had to have this one. I got it a couple of months ago and it needs some serious alterations! I'm short, so about half of the sleeves need to be chopped off.

I don't have any pics of me in it yet!
Demetrios #3026 in white. I ordered it from Netbride and am thrilled! The salon wanted about $1000 for it and it was $595 through Netbride. I'm pretty mad that I paid the $150 for a custom hollow to hem and the seamstress completely messed up the measurements so that was wasted.

These are the bridesmaids' dresses. I think the style number is Jordan #1205. My two sisters are my bridesmaids. $117 from Netbride

The guys: Justin is wearing a black two-button tux. He is wearing a "latte" RIO vest from Mens Wearhouse. The two groomsman are his dad and brother. They are wearing the chocolate color vest in the same style. My dad will wear black in the same style also.

This pic looks copper, but they are really dark brown. I love the coordinating striped ties.

He wasn't too sure about the brown and black together, but when he saw the really dark brown stripe he liked it a lot!

This is my ring!! He knew I wanted a round diamond, but both of us were kind of clueless about the settings the couple times we went out and looked. So he put it in a plain solitaire setting and let me pick out the setting myself.

He bought it from www.bluenile.com which I HIGHLY recommend. Great quality.

This is the setting that we are ordering later this month. Haha, it only too me 6 months to pick it out!

My diamond won't obviously look that ginormous in it! It's from www.steindiamonds.com

Justin just got his ring a couple days ago and can't stop playing with it! It's Artcarved "Forsythe" in tungsten and platinum. He's going to have to figure out what to do though since he's decided it's a bit too small. Being tungsten, it can't be easily sized. Artcarved has a lifetime replacement policy so we might have to put that into effect! It's beautiful though. He originally thought he wanted black titanium but after feeling the weight of this one he fell in love!

My mom and dad bought me a strand of Akoya pearls for my college graduation that I will be wearing.

Shoes
I really want these shoes, but the Aldo stores near me have been absolutely ridiculous! For some reason they don't have the white ones online. One store was supposed to order them for me in my size and never did. Who knows. I do like that they're casual enough that I will rewear them.

Brooch
I'm not sure if this will be in my hair or on my bouquet. I thought it was beautiful and knew I would find somewhere for it! I don't think it looks this creamy in person. www.whiteaisle.com

Since we are getting married in fall, we wanted really rich colors. We're using a chocolate brown and moss green with deep eggplant as an accent color. We'll be using lots of natural elements like rocks, leaves, willow branches, and moss. We're nature freaks so it's been fun incorporating that. We both love fall so we wanted to draw attention to that.

Thanks ladies! It's not even really flawless. It's actually SI1 (maybe 2), but it has D color and excellent cut, so it makes up for it! He priced rings at local stores and for the same price you got literally half the quality. What a rip! I am really artsy and knew that I wanted the setting to be unique and I thought this one was pretty different. Just looks a little funkier than usual I think!

And woops. the wedding is November 17th, 2007. That would be important to put in the planning journal, huh!?

When: November 17th, 2007. We don't have an official time yet, but definitely during the day. 12:00 probably.

Where: Indianapolis, IN. We wanted an intimate wedding at Disney, but we had to have our grandparents there and they couldn't have come to Florida. Plus, we have horses, so if the whole family went to Florida there would be nobody to take care of them! We're taking our Honeymoon there though. Next best thing, right!?

Honeymoon: November 19th-26th. We're staying at the Polynesian. We originally booked the AKL, but being our honeymoon we didn't want to chance the construction. Next time! We put in a request for a garden view at Samoa. We know it's a long shot, but our official request was for 3rd floor (want to get a balcony) facing the volcano pool. We'll be happy no matter where we end up!

Laurel Hall- This was one of our splurges. It's an old 1916 restored mansion.

This is the solarium where the ceremony will be. We were originally not going to have dancing and have the reception in here as well, but we've decided to get a dj. It's awesome though. Three walls are these windows.

I stole this from another bride. We're thinking about having the ceremony in front of these doors.

This is the other larger room that we will probably end up using for the reception. I'm not a fan of the lights. Can anyone think of anything to do to hide them??

Sunday- leaving it open

It's going to take some getting used to since we're night owls and usually eat dinner at 10 and get up at 10 or 11!

I love flowers, but have NO idea what we're using. I originally wanted lavender roses and was going to order them in bulk and diy to save money. That was before we switched our color scheme and date. Now, lavender roses in November with a really rich color scheme isn't doing it for me. So these are some ideas so far. I have a meeting with the florist this coming up Saturday, so we'll see! I want something that's deeper purple (but not a reddish burgundy like some callas are). I don't want it to be too bright because of fall and I'm looking for something I can add to make it a little more rustic looking. HELP! Any ideas??? I'm kind of clueless right now.

I've never seen these in person, but how cool are they??

I know I want something darker, but there is just something so classic about an all lavender rose bouquet!

I don't like the actual flowers here, but I really like the wispy greenery.

I realized it might be nice to actually share some pictures of me and justin. We got our engagement pics back a little bit ago and LOVE them. They're kind of large because they're our pro engagement pics, so I hope they show up!

We took our pics in a local arts district. It's hard to tell in these pics, but these were in front of this HUGE graffiti/mural. it was awesome!

You should do one! I have a knot bio honestly, which is why I have all of my pics on shutterfly already. I like being able to have people comment on it and *hopefully* give advice. I wasn't sure whether I should do one since I'm not having a Dis wedding, but I figured what the heck! I think I'm most excited about the honeymoon though!

Thanks! Everyone on here is so nice! Laurel Hall is actually in Indianapolis. I used to live in northwest Indiana by Merrillville but have moved down here. I LOVE horses (I'd love them more if I wasn't broke because of them... )

These are the linens and centerpiece mockups. The tablecloth is espresso bengaline and the runners, napkins, and chair ties will be loden bichon. They're from BBJ linens.

And my most FAVORITE wedding purchase so far. The cake serving set. It's a discontinued Bombay set.

For our favors we are making caramel apples. I LOVE fall!

Not related to linens and such, but here is how I want to do my hair. I'm still not sure if I want to use fresh flowers or hairpins of some sort. It's naturally VERY curly so I want it half up like this.

I love her makeup. The lips are a little pink for me, but I like the purple eyeshadow.
