Hi Lesley

Yes, usually it will work out cheaper, but most of the time it is dependent on which flights are available not part of a package holiday.

For flights is a good idea trying sites such as www.expedia.co.uk , www.lastminute.com , www.opodo.co.uk & www.ebookers.co.uk to name but a few. I always book flights first before searching for a hotel/villa.

Once the flights are booked try www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com for a quote (if you are planning on staying in a Disney resort) and also www.disneyworld.com for standard room rates (or ocassional discount codes - we booked the 'Spring Saver' code direct from the Disney website) A great site regarding hotel discounts is www.mousesavers.com . If you were not planning on staying in a hotel, but instead a villa, then there are hundreds of villa websites - a simple search in google will bring up hundreds :earseek:

It can be a bit stressful at times ;) trying to get everything to co-ordinate together, but in the end it should all be worth it. Another great benefit is you can choose everything yourself, unlike when booking a package holiday ::yes:: .

Once accommodation and flights are sorted you can concentrate on car hire and tickets

hi Lesley
we're going with TCD end of June. We have in the past made our own arrangements but this trip found that booking TCD for the flyDrive and searched own villa booking was the cheapest option. I think it's the time of the year.
I quite enjoy making seperate arrangements, for our last trip we booked flights with Airline Network, Hotel on-line with WD Travel Company and car hire on-line with Dollar.
Where are you staying?:D

We have travelled both on packaged holidays and also made our own arrangements. We like to go in apartments/villas and it has definitely worked out cheaper to make our own arrangements when we have holidayed with other people, but have found it cheaper to book an apartment through Virgin Holidays for just myself, DH and 2 DS's. Saying that, we are not using the 'free car hire' part of the package as I have managed to find cheaper car hire with more insurance through floridacarhire.com than the insurance alone with Virgin. We have saved over £150 by not taking their 'free' car. We have a larger car and additional driver for this amount.

DIY is the way to go, wouldnt do anything else now.

research flights first, get rough dates, look for accmadation, it'll all fit into place once you start looking, and it does save ALOT of money!!!

Just organised my whole Las veags trip myself, flights, car and booked 9 hotels independantly.

Make lists and reserch, it really is quiet fun!!!;)

thanks everyone diy seems the way to go think i'll have a go at it next year.
were staying at the enclave suites on i drive this year we thought we'd try off site as we were at all star sport last time .
thanks for help
