DIY Check-in (Virgin)

Has anyone used this facility on line? Do you need information off your passports, flight tickets and booking number? I will be attempting to check in next Tuesday but will have to do it from work, so will have to bring any info to work with me.

I used it back in April and as far as I remember you need to have the passports of everyone who is on the booking. Everything else should call up automatically.

This is what Virgin emailed me when I asked them what to do!!

"After accessing the Virgin Atlantic website at http://www.virgin-atlantic.com, select `BOOKING' followed by `DIY CHECK IN'. For step one you will need to enter your name, flight number, date of travel and one of the following:

- E-Ticket Number
- VS Booking Reference/Locator
- Virgin Holidays Reference Number
- GDS (Travel Agent Reference Number)

Once this has been entered, your name, route, date and flight times will be displayed. For step two you will be asked if you would like to check in anyone else. If you select `yes', you will be required to complete a separate screen, supplying details of the second passenger's passport and itinerary. This will continue until all passengers details have been entered.

If you are travelling to the USA you will then be redirected to another page (step three) which will require your passport numbers to be entered.

Step four will show you a summary of the details that you have entered and you will be asked if you would either like to amend them or check in.

When you reach step five, the online check in process will be complete!"

And it all worked fine!!

You need your reference number, and all passports. It works a treat.

I'm interested to know about the seats too - Will it just allocate the seats you've already reserved or can you change them?

If you have previously pre-booked your seats, you will be allocated those. If not, you will be able to pick from the on-screen map

Dear Francis999-thanks for the answer. Whenever i see your replies i always think that you have been on some fantastic holidays!! We are excited this year staying in CBR and HRH goodness knows what i would be like if i ever get to stay at the Poly or AKL !! Still i can dream or keep doing the lottery

Ohhhh you will love the Hard Rock Hotel - it has the most wonderful atmosphere But of course, the express passes are the biggest benefit of all I have some photo's uploaded into my ImageStation account....PM if you would like the link....I found it hard to find decent photo's when I was planning for our trip last year
