Dixie Stampede

We went last year to the Dixie Christmas show because my DH had read great things about it. I was not impressed. The show itself was very entertaining but the overall experience was not.

In the pre-show area we were charged something like $4 for a Pepsi (although soft drinks were included with the meal) which we were very annoyed about since the prices were not posted anywhere.

And waiting to be hearded into the show I totally felt like cattle.

Was not overly impressed with the eating with your hands part either. I had braces at the time so asked for cutlery.

I believe the Christmas show was over $50 and not in the same league was Hoop Dee Doo Review.

Bottom line enjoyed the show but not everything else that went with it. Overpriced and would not recommend it to anyone.

My parents like the Christmas show best--camels, donkeys, ice skating, live nativity scene. The Myrtle Beach location has plastic cutlery if requested, at least they used to.

There are AAA discounts at the Myrtle Beach location(10 per cent). I wonder if the Orlando location does the same.

With two sons we have done Dixie Stampede in Pidgeon Forge and Midevel times three times in Myrtle Beach. The kids love it and my feeling is that once is enough. There is usually discount tickets at the hotel that you stay at or check the discount books that a plentiful everywhere in a tourist spot. I think if you have kids go - they truly enjoy it - but personally I like Midevil times a little more than dixie stampede. (especially the preshow stuff):jester:

Anyone know which website has the best discounted tickets for Dixie Stampede? I want to order my tickets in advance.

Thanks

You will probably get a better deal if you wait until you get to Orlando and get a discount book

Best coupon is usually available at the Premium Outlets Fri-Sun. Dixie has a guy there with a table and coupons and stuff just outside the food court. He usually has a coupon good for $7 off adult tickets. The coupon in the tourist guides is normally $4 off adults and $1 or $2 off kids.

AAA card gets you $4 off adults and $1 off kids, I think. There are also vouchers you can buy from a AAA Florida office that are cheaper IIRC. If you are driving down, AAA has an office right off I4 in Heathrow.

Make sure you mention the coupon/discount when you call for your reservation and also bring in the coupon or appropriate card when you pick up your tickets.

Also Dixie Stampede has just begun serving beer and wine with dinner for those who are of legal drinking age. It is not an unlimited amount, but plenty for the duration of the show, IMO. However for those who feel the need for more than that, beer, wine and a few other malt beverages are available for purchase during the preshow and in the arena.
