I just read the Dixie Stampede (dinner show) will be opening in June in Orlando. Has anyone been to the other three Dixie Stampedes in Branson and I believe Tennessee. Would like to know if the show is any good and how the seating is.

I have never gone before, but a friend of mine goes to the one in Branson every year. They really like it alot. I would love to try it, but the tickets are kind of pricey, and we have 6 people. it would cost us about 225.00 for a show and dinner. I just can't make myself pay that price when alot of other really good shows are alot cheaper in Branson.

We have been several times to the one in Myrtle Beach and the one in Pigeon Forge TN. They are both great!! DD8 and DS4 love it also. I'm the one in Orlando will be similar.

I went fully prepared to hate it and actually had a really good time. I will give Dolly Parton credit, she puts out a good product!

The Medieval Times has no monopoly on horses. When the Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show debuts in Orlando on June 19, it will feature plenty of horses as well, in the country-western theme program. But it will have quite a few critters that Medieval Times and other shows don't have, including a small "herd" of eight thundering buffalo. The 1,200-seat facility is owned in part by Dollywood and Dolly Parton, the country music legend who later turned to acting.

Parton said she got the idea for including buffalo in the lineup during a recent music tour in Europe, where people often think of the United States in terms of cowboys and Southern belles, and the eagle and the buffalo are seen as "symbols of the strength of America."

The American bald eagle is already used in Dollywood shows in Tennessee so they decided to have buffalo at the Orlando site, which expects a large contingent of international visitors. The new $28 million dinner attraction is located off Interstate 4 between Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.

It was a nice show..but if I remember right, you ate with your hands. No utensils. If that was the show in Branson, that I think it was (the Nothe against the South..us Northeners won!), they fed us food with no forks (but nice warm washcloths to wash up with afterward). The food was soup (drank it), chicken, and I think corn on the cob and a corn bread. It was pricey, but a lot of fun.

The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, is well worth the money. When you make a reservation they ask you if you are from the North or the South. When you arrive they have a Dixie Belle Saloon that is non alchol, for a pre show. Then when it is time for the show, you walk into a horseshoe shaped arena with benches and a table. Northerners on one side Southerners on the other.

Your waiter will serve you your drinks, and tell you you brought your silverwear with you, your hands. They serve you dinner of ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, soup, and I think some kind of potato, and a danish for desert. You eat while they are performing the show. It is a contest against the north and the south. They even have the crowd participate. The kids play horse shoes with toilet seats.

It is a very nice show well worth the money imho. Hope this helps you.

I went to the Dixie Stampede in Branson and we had small cornish game hens.. not too meaty, but they were edible. We also had corn on the cob, rolls, salad and roasted potatoes.

If I remember right, you can request forks and knives. At least, that's what I've heard about the show here in TN.

I requested them..they said they didn't own them. But everyone else was in the same boat. It was a lot of fun..the preshow and the aftershow. We got a free drink for the first show, because we paid in advance. There were a lot more southerns, than Northerns when we went to Branson..so they gave 'em to us.

Hi guys! I'm new to this board, but a regular on the cruise board! I just came on over to see if anyone knew where there is a really good extended stay suite hotel, that allows pets. Reason...I just got hired by Dixie Stampede! Need a month in a residence hotel to settle in, but I want to bring one, or two of my dogs...I am convinced it is going to be fantastic! A friend of mine who is in a highly placed managerial position (can't elaborate more!) thinks that Dixie is going to blow away alot of Orlando shows, and is convinced this will be the best quality food in Orlando...and he knows food, and Orlando market intimately...pretty high praise.
Maybe someone could help me out with the suite thing, I need a full kitchen for sure, and 2 bedrooms(pool goes without saying)...close to Dixie would be great, but I have a vehicle...not a zillion dollars would be nice too... lol
