While I was in my doctor's office, I picked up a magazine called Diversion--Physician at Liesure (August 2004). One of the articles was called Rating Orlando . Here are some quotes:
WALT DISNEY WORLD:
Disney still runs the best hotels and restaurants, but litter now mars the walkways, potholes afflict the roads, and at least on intersection lacks signs. Worst of all, most new attractions largely recycle past hits or simply lack imagination.
Rates AK an A+
Rates MGM Studios an A
Rates EPCOT A- (states Innoventions has too much product shilling)
Rates MK an A (for whats tried and true) and a C (for what is new) It states that Mickey's Philharmagic should be called Donald's Philhamanic because it cheaply reuses old film footage featuring the duck. It also says that Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is marred by teacly music and unconvincing narration by phantom Jiminy Cricket.
Hotels:
Boardwalk: B+
Grand Floridian: A+
Pop Century: C- (motel units where you pay double th I Drive rates and $2 for coffee, and you don't even get an in-room fridge.
Swan and Dolphin: Rooms: A+ Architecture: D
Wilderness Lodge: A
Restaurants:
Artist Point: A+
California Grill: Food: A, Ambience: C
Flying Fish Cafe: A
Fresh Mediterranean: B+
Les Chef de France: A
Todd English's bluezoo: B
Victoria & Albert's: A
Any thoughts?
