Again, in my excitement, I didn't take any pictures that afternoon, but I did take them early one morning. Imagine if you will...this was our view as we stepped onto the balcony...only with lots of people...

i didn;t realize that you had already gone to WDW and are back starting your tr. I soo would not drive that far with my DH in the passenger seat....all i would hear is what I am doing wrong! Plus its over 20 hrs I would guess from northern ohio.

WHEW.......CP, you had me worried about the Pixie Dust and saying it was soon after you arrived ON property........I mean you had left us driving SLOWLY toward the SIGN........I was afraid you were going to say that Charles quickly fell back asleep after snapping the picture!!

No, he stayed awake for a little bit.

The resort and your room looks awesome and what a wonderful way to start your Vacation!! I am excited that as soon as you arrived at your dream resort that things were even more Magical than you expected!!

That's what I love about Disney -- everything is touched by magic and superb service.

Great update and it sounds like the trip is off to indeed a Magical time for you and your family!!

OH, and since I am here......might I suggest that my FRIEND, Shocker invest in a CHEAP tape recorder........and next time he BUYS Wigd. some MORE DVC points that he records her telling him how wonderful he is and how much she loves him!! That way in the future when he needs to hear it, he can just play the tape back and $ave a bundle instead of having to add on more points??

I am going to say no about the tape recorder, so that Wigd can continue adding points to her DVC collection.

Just checking in for the first time, I think, I read so many TRs that sometimes I don't know which ones I've posted on.

I could totally feel your excitement pulling into AKL. DH & I stayed there in 2002 by a great twist of fate. We were booked at CBR when they closed the whole resort for refurbishment two week before our trip, as a reult we got a savannah view at AKL for an addditional $20/night. At the time that was $124 less than rack rate !! AKL was still brand new. It's the only Deluxe we've gotten to stay in, our budget is more moderate resort. Just looking at your pictures I can feel the peacfulness I associate with AKL and I can recall the smell, I can't wait to read more about your trip and hopefully more about AKL.

What a great way to be able to stay at AKL! That's awesome! I loved the smell -- I breathed deeply everytime we entered the lobby. Normally we stay moderates, but the 4/3 deal enabled us to stay at AKL.

There's lots more about AKL!

We are neighbors -- we used to live in Marietta, but are a little farther north now.

WOW...now I'm thinking at some point I'm going to have to stay at AKL...what a beautiful resort! I can't wait to check it out when I eat at Sanaa. YAY for the upgrade I'm sure you guys were completely thrilled...so did the kids turn Stacey on first?????

I know I've said this a million times (and will probably say it a million more! LOL): AKL is just beautiful and I can't wait for the day we stay there. I had a flutter of excitement just looking at your lobby pictures! And then when I saw that beautiful pool view all I could do was say "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

I'm voting for the mouse ears. The Mouse if more powerful than the Force.

I would stay there on every trip if I could afford it -- I loved it that much!

Oh what a wonderful upgrade! That is just truly wonderful. It's so beautiful. I can totally feel how excited you were. Hehehe.

I so wasn't expecting an upgrade -- I was so focused on just making sure that the tickets and dining plans were on our KTTW cards. Then, when I noticed the room numbers as we walked, I figured it was one of those partial pool views that you read about from time to time. There was nothing partial about that view though!

Well, I asked Chuck which town he stayed in the other day, and he thinks it was something like Coventry? But, I couldn't find a Coventry, Georgia so I don't know. He said the town was about 20 miles north of Atlanta.

Anyway - I'm all caught up! Your first installment had me laughing - REALLY!

There is a Coventry, but it's not really near us. It is on the east side of Atlanta -- we're on the north side.

Thanks! It wasn't too noisy in the evening -- being on the third floor and the heavy curtains helped muffle the noise at night.

We got a few laughs out of people watching from time to time.

Thanks! I think with your plan, you will be okay. The key will be escaping the heat in the middle of the day. I am curious to see what kind of crowds you encounter while you are down there since I am thinking of doing a mid-July trip next year, so we can snag a value season price on AKL.

We were so excited!!! What was even better was that the elevator was just around the corner from our room, so we could be down there and swimming in under five minutes.

I LOVE the pool view at AKL, it's so beautiful looking out over the "watering hole" and the lush greenery all around...

So Charles loved the AKL pillows too, eh? Maybe a little too much...?
