Hey Mel I know where Tulare is!! I used to work for the farm bureau and Tulare was one of our Big cities that we worked with. LOTS of farming there!! The area I worked in was farm safety and Young Farmers and Ranchers so I knew a lot of the farm communities. I bet you guys might even belong to the bureau!! ;)

I am so bummed that we will be out of town during mousemeet! I really would love to see you all. We will be driving back from Yellowstone on that Sunday.

Anyhow, I would suggest that you head on over to Alderwood mall. They have the only Disney Store in the state and tons of great restaurants. It is just 5 minutes or so from the Embassy Suites.

Also, the restaurant in the hotel is really great for steak and seafood. Our local entertainment book usually has a great coupon. BOGO I think. Which makes the $20+ per plate much more reasonable. I have a bunch of those books and would be happy to send you all a few coupons, if you think you might use them.

Just let me know.
Sorry you can't make it Tracey! Thanks for the tips, I might take you up on those dining coupons.

Tracey that is funny that you brought up the Alderwood mall. I used to go to that one all the time. Of course I am sure it has changed since I was up there but I remember they used to have a GREAT made in washington store there and Northern Reflections which is probably LONG gone. I loved their clothes. That was a chain that started up there and they actually brought them down here but they didn't make it here. Doubt they are still up there although maybe. My other fav mall was the Clackamas Town Center. Course that was in Or but I loved the ice rink and it had great stores. When I lived in Marysville we used to have to go to the Everett mall and it was tiny so that is when we would go to the the Alderwood one because it was bigger. But then when I moved to Vancouver I had the Vancouver mall which was OK but I would go into Portland and go to Loyd Center or Clackamas like I said. Much better ones. :) And no sales tax!

Ah memories. I sure miss it up there and can't wait for my trip this summer!!
Clackamas Town Center has changed so much. The ice rink is long gone. We used to watch Tanya Harding practice there before she became notorious. The mall has one of I think only two Disney Stores left in Oregon. The other one is at Washington Square on the west side where I NEVER go.

LOL about Tanya Harding. I used to watch her skate there as well!! So funny about her now and sad really. But yes it was nice to be able to shop there with the no tax!! ;)

I bet a lot of things have changed since I left. I lived up there from 95 to 98 so it has been a LONG time ago!

Oh and Carol I remember another really small OLD mall. Not sure if it was Washington Square. It was REALLY old and run down and I went there a few times but it was pretty yucky and I didn't like it very much. I think Loyd Center was probably my fav!! I liked Clackamas though because it had some neat stores that we didn't have in Vancouver.

Kelmac, Yes, Clackamas is a fav or mine. Seems I never get to Portland anymore :(. Vancouver Mall is closer so on way to Costco --The costco by the airport-- I try and stop to do a bit of shopping. One of the best things about shopping Clackamas Towne Center is NO TAX, actually best thing about shopping Oregon.

I watched the Sonny and Cher show to :). Even then you could see she was a very good actress.

Kelly do you remember Halabalu-- don't think that is the way it is spelled. Kid/teen show after school -- lots of singers, dancing, stuff like that.

Anyone remember Mary Hartman Mary Hartman. Ok I will quit.

Oh wait I remember "The Wonderful World of Disney" Think it was Sunday night in our area. Mr. Walt was the MC. My family looked forward to it each week.

Have a great Disney Day.

Patty

Kelly, you might be thinking about Mall 205. I actually used to like it back in the early 90's because it was small and had affordable stores, not a lot of high-end expensive shops, plus we lived near there. They have re-done it and now there is a Home Depot and Target and it really doesn't seem much like a mall. I only go into the Target, it is a big one with two levels. Or you could be thinking about Eastport Plaza, not really a mall now but more of a shopping center with a Wal-Mart.

I worked in a bingo parlor in Gresham & Tanya Harding & her dad came in a played one night......they were both pretty weird!!

My son & daughter in law both work(ed) at the Washington Square Mall.....it's pretty nice, we've never had any issues there & don't tend to hear about it in the local news much......on the other hand.....I won't go any where near the Lloyd Center anymore.....gotten pretty violent in that area & even had shooting IN the mall....thanx but no thanx!

Haven't been to Clackamas Town Center in YEARS!!! No real interest in going.....so we don't. The Disney Store is at the Washington Square Mall......just FYI!!

I remember LaughIn. All too well. ;)
All the characters and scenes you mentioned, plus the military guy that always said "verrrry interesting!" And they always said "sock it to me" and various things would be flung at them. Usually water. And crazy JoAnne Whirley. And the dance scenes where they had flowers, drawings and writing all over their bodies? Goldie Hawn was in a lot of those scenes. Kind of like todays version of tattoos everywhere only they washed off!

We also regularly watched The Smothers Brothers. They were very good and funny. I heard their show was pulled for being politically incorrect. Can you imagine in todays world how tame it would all be perceived? Kelly, we loved Dean Martin, too. And Bandstand and Flipper and Get Smart and Family Affair. So many good shows back then.

Anyway, we get off work early today. Am really looking forward to spending Easter with Cheryl and her friends. :goodvibes

Happy Friday Everyone.

Blame Wendylady. :rolleyes1

Who, me?

One is the loneliest number..... :rolleyes1

All by myself,
don't wanna be,
all by myself, anymore!

I live in Tulare. LOL....anyone know where that is?

I do, I do!

Aw...we used to sing that song all the time! Lambchops! :cloud9:

I loved watching Lambchops! Who knew a sock puppet could be so entertaining.

Now girls... no fighting!

Who, us? :angel::angel:

Anyway, we get off work early today. Am really looking forward to spending Easter with Cheryl and her friends. :goodvibes

Happy Friday Everyone.

Yay for getting off work early! Hope you and Cheryl have a Happy Easter!

Happy Friday everyone! (or should I say Good Friday).

I remember laugh in although I was a kid when it was on...also Flipper, Gentle Ben, Get Smart etc

Family Affair was a favorite... I remember my sister & I always wanted our Mom to do our hair in "Buffy curls" remember the little curled pigtails?

Mall 205 that's it!! Yep. Back then anyway it was pretty run down but good to know they have improved it! That is how our Arden Fair Mall was and then they rebuilt it but that area has a lot of gang activity so I don't go there anymore either.

Gosh I am sad to hear that Loyd Center has gone downhill. I thought that was a pretty nice mall and we stayed at that Doubletree last time we were there.

LOVED Family affair!

There's been a lot of "gang" related shootings in that area, last week a 14 yr old was at the park across from the mall & was killed......very sad, everyone that knew him said he WAS NOT involved with gangs....just in the wrong place at the wrong time (and it was middle of the afternoon)......I wouldn't stay in that area if you were planning on it.

All these old shows......ahhhhh memories!! Loved Laugh-In....eventhough I didn't totally understand the humor at a younger age.......loved Family Affair & Wonderful World of Disney....every Sunday right after Marlin Perkin's Wild Kingdom!!! lol Growing up was a huge fan of the Brady's & the Partridge Family but also loved Gilligan's Island!! I also remember the Smother's Brothers....got to see them live at the State Fair a few years back......still funny!!

We didn't spill at our wedding. Just stay away from ribs lol. But she is the bride, and it is all what she wants. :goodvibes

Rochelle~ I WANT that drink!!! It looks so refreshing right now. Our local farmers market doesn't have yummy drinks like that.

My friend and I rode about 11 miles today and I think my butt is bruised :rotfl: We decided to hit up Goodwill and the Antique store after we arrived back to my house. I did find a few treasures to craft with! Even a framed Cinderella print. The frame will be repurposed. Does anyone want the print? It is of the fairy godmother changing Cinderella.

I am thinking about making a little trip to DL this summer. I know, maddness! But I cannot take any time off of work this spring or fall. Now that I am a teacher I am at the mercy of the school schedule.

For you runners: I am running the Lodi half on May 15th, San Diego on June 6 (or is it 5th? - whatever the Sunday is), and Davis Moon-light on July 16th. Anyone up to do them? I know Wendy is running the Davis race too.

I'm doing the R&R Half on June 5th in San Diego. Are doing the full or half?

Wow! I'm totally impressed! Care to share what online program you used?

Thanks for the link - I love podcasts. I'm going to go sign up for this one now.:goodvibes

I was a sprinter in Jr. High too. Didn't run at all in high school, or since. It's great so many of you are runners. I appreciate the support - a lot!

Here's the one I used...I guess it was only 12 weeks.

Thanks for this info Tracey! Sorry you won't be able to make the meet.

Now girls... no fighting!
She started it. :snooty: You know I am always on my very best behavior. :teeth:

The 14th is my birthday so want to stay till then. I'm just wondering if I will feel burned out by then?
If you can pull it off, I say stay as long as you can. Why not? Then you can really take time and do everything you never get to do. There is also DTD to check out, and the Anaheim Garden Walk area too. Plus you can just chill at the pool.

Hey Mel I know where Tulare is!!
Me too!! My mom and aunt lived in Hanford for many years so I've spent lots of time up that way.

Anyway, we get off work early today. Am really looking forward to spending Easter with Cheryl and her friends. :goodvibes
That sounds really nice, Linda. Give Cheryl a hug from me! And Cheryl, give Linda one from me too! :goodvibes Thanks!!

I remember laugh in although I was a kid when it was on...also Flipper, Gentle Ben, Get Smart etc
I sort of vaguely remember those. I also loved watching BJ and the Bear. (I had a crush on BJ)
I remember watching shows like Buck Rogers in the 21st Century (I had a crush on Buck Rogers), Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, Fantasy Island, Simon and Simon (I had a crush on the blond one), The A-team, and Murder She Wrote. All great shows!! And lots of cute guys. LOL

Growing up was a huge fan of the Brady's & the Partridge Family but also loved Gilligan's Island!!
OMG, Gilligan rocks!!! :cool1:
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale.....

Why isn't there good quality shows like that on anymore?? :happytv:
