Disturbed at Nanny Beating This Baby

It is a horrible story. :sad2:

I wonder how thoroughly they screened this woman before they hired her? I wonder what sort of experience and references she provided? Installing a camera is fine, but it didn't prevent what happened to their baby. Did the parents feel like something was off? They must have, because they went out and got a camera.

I've been a nanny for 17 years. In my experience, the "nannies" involved in these cases are usually not women with extensive education and experience in childcare. I would like to know what it was that the family saw in her that made them hire her. I would like to know how long she had been working there, how long after she was hired the children started having injuries, how long the family waited before they installed the camera.

Obviously the blame for the abuse is ENTIRELY on the caregiver. I am NOT excusing her behavior in any way, shape or form. What she did was reprehensible and an 8 year sentence is much too short. I just wonder if there may have been red flags that the family missed.

That wasn't long enough. As for why the parents got a camera, doesn't mean they thought anything was up with the nanny.

Wow. I cannot put to words what I would do to someone if she were to treat Princess Wigglypants like that.

The news man said they installed the camera after their older child had a suspicious black eye! Also, I think it said at the bottom of the screen that she'd been with them for 2 years! :scared1:

I did catch the part about them putting in the camera after an older child had a black eye. I did NOT see where it said she had been there TWO YEARS! :scared1: I wonder if she had been abusing the kids all along and it just kept escalating?

I imagine she was, and it's horrifying! Her tearful apologies are meaningless!! She's not crying because she's sorry she hurt that baby, she's crying because she's sorry she got caught!

:scared1:I didn't see that she had been there for two years. That is just unreal. I will never understand how someone could do that to a child. :sad2:

What makes it even more horrible is that ORDINARILY when a baby is born when a nanny is already employed there, the nanny forms a very strong, loving bond with the baby. If she had been there for 2 years she would have been there for the mom's entire pregnancy and birth. She would have been caring for that little guy from the very, very beginning.

I ADORE my sweet little charges. The younger one is 11 months and I can not even begin to imagine someone treating her that way! :sad1:

It wouldn't be her trial but mine that I would be attending. I honestly believe I would snap and she might be beaten to death if it were one of my children:mad: I can not imagine what those poor children were dealing with for 2 years but no other child would ever have to worry about this nanny:headache:

I saw this on YouTube awhile back. This is a longer version and has an interview with the Dad. He said the nanny had references and worked at a church. They had no idea. :sad1:

It's truly shocking to see someone hit a child that many times, and what was he even doing to make her so angry? He was just sitting there playing. :sad2:

She KNOCKED him over ON PURPOSE! She bounced a ball off his head.......HARD. Horrible horrible video. :(

It's one thing to see abusive situations played out in a movie (pretend) but it's another thing entirely to see it real. Why would that woman take care of children when she clearly doesn't even LIKE them? :confused3

I so agree with all of you! Thanks for the other link. I was questioning what kind of references the woman had brought. Thank God they saved their children before this woman could really get out of control. I can not even imagine what kind of rage these poor parents felt when they witnessed that.
