Distance to GardenWalk?

We're going to be staying at DL Hotel. Since we can only get a 5 day pass, we are ending up with some free time. I'm thinking of checking out GardenWalk. But I'm wondering exactly how far it is from DL Hotel or Downtown Disney. Is it walkable?? Or do we need to take a cab? We don't mind a 15-20 minute walk, but I don't want to be walking for 45 minutes. And are there sidewalks the whole way? No walking in the roadway, right? And lastly, what would be our best route? Go thru DTD & down S. Harbour or down Disneyland Drive & over W. Katella? THANKS!

It's definitely easily walkable. I can't remember exactly how long it takes, but I don't think it's any longer than 15-20 minutes. There are sidewalks the whole way, and going down Katella would be the fastest route I believe. From what I remember, the entrance is between Cheesecake Factory and Bubba Gumps. Enjoy your trip!

If you go to GW from the parks then use Harbor. If from the DLH you can use Katella. It might feel more "magical" though if you go thru DTD over to Harbor and went south to Disney Way and the east.

Either way it will probably take about 15-20 minutes.

I stayed at the DLH a few months ago and made this walk, taking Katella there and the route through Disney back. Katella was probably shorter since we didn't have to dodge people and go through the bag check, but it FELT twice as long because there's nothing to look at but cars and a never ending line of palm trees. Then again maybe it was because it was over 100 degrees out and GardenWalk was like an air conditioned mirage in the distance. LOL
