Distance of SSR from DTD???

We are currently in the process of purchasing at SSR. I was curious as to how long of a walk it is from SSR to DTD and how often does the boat ride take???

from congress park building it is about a 5 minutes walk to the bus stop at DTD. very nice walk. and we discovered it is better to walk back than take the boat if you are staying in the CP builiding. not sure how often the boat goes; we just walked over.

Is there a boat dedicated to SSR to DTD? Or does it share a boat with POR/POFQ? We have stayed at POFQ twice. Both times the boat service was very slow. It took a little over one hour and waiting for five boats to showup because the number of people waiting. I could not imagine adding another stop to the trip. Although the trip up the canal during a full moon was magically.

The walk from the closest Congress Park building to the DTD bus stops is less than 5 minutes with a 5 year old child. The walk from DTD to SSR is much longer when that same 5 year old child has a goblet of vanilla ice cream from Ghirardelli's.

Note that there is boat service from POR/POFQ to DTD; folks waiting at the DVC docks can get quite annoyed when they see one of these just cruise on past....

hey the boats that OKW/SSR uses now has nice pillows for your back and seat....

the ones that PO uses do not.

I am not tempted at all to get on the PO....

Regarding the timing, the boats only run 1x per hour during the day, and then at 4pm they run every half hour. The boat stops at docks both in the Marketplace and West Side at DD.

Unfortunately the dock is kinda out of the way. Once they build the units out on the LBV fairway, the dock may be within reasonable walking distance of some units. But given the location of the dock respective to the current units, and the infrequency of its trips, taking a bus or walking is much more reliable.

Is the longer walking time directly proportional to the amount of ice cream? This could be a crucial factor.
