Regal Palms, Emerald Island and Windsor Hills????

Windsor Hills seems to be a favorite here. We can't afford Bonnet Creek. Or should I say it is not in our budget that I am not willing to go over. Regal Palms seems to be further away but when I google mapped Emerald Island time wise it seemed comparable. Windsor Hills was a bit closer. The reason I was looking at Regal Palms is because I can get a 4 bedroom as opposed to the 3 bedrooms I am looking at at the other areas. Of course adding on the $10 per day resrt charge at Regal Palms makes it a bit more expensive and I am not sure if the pool area is worth all that... along with the added time. So what is time to TTC in experience and anyone have any opinions on the three areas I listed? Thanks

Regal Palms is out on 27 so it would be a lot further than WH or Emerald Island. WH and EI would be about the same timewise maybe a minute or two longer from EI using Sherberth Rd. Never really timed it to the TTC but I would say about 12-15 minutes. I do know it's 7 minutes to the parking lot of Animal Kingdom from WH if you hit the red light on 192 and Sherberth Rd. From EI it would be a minute or two more. I know it doesn't take as long as the google maps are showing.
On this map WH is #1, EI is #15 and Regal Palms is #77 (above the marker). So you can see the difference in the distance. TTC is next to Polynesian #29 .

We stayed at Regal Palms about 5 years ago. It is out on 27 which we didn't mind at all, but I do not recommend staying that far out if it is your first time off site. I always recommend staying in one of the communities similar to those recommended by Sympatico for the first off site stay. If you get a chance during that off site stay to take a ride over to 27, do that and judge for yourself whether or not the additional 8-10 minutes is worth it to you for a future trip. For us, the additional drive is worth it because we can get nice homes for a lot less money staying in Davenport.
As for Regal Palms, we enjoyed that "resort" but the villas/townhomes definitely weren't as nice as some of the other places we have stayed. The pool area was fun but it is small. It was great for my kids at the time - my daughter was 1, my boys were 6, 6, and 8. I am not sure if my kids would like the pool area as well now that they are 6, 11, 11, 13.

Windsor Hills might be a minute or two closer than Emerald Island, but it also tends to carry a bit of a premium on the rental price. I tended to go with WH before we bought into Wyndham, but EI would be fine too.

this completely depends upon the traffic - it takes around 15 minutes (if you obey the speed limit -35 mph on Sherberth road, 45 mph on Osceola Parkway and 50 mph on world drive - would recommend that you do - the local and state police give tickets here. you are merging into traffic on world drive so be carefully - it does not look like you are - but believe you are.

to get to the TTC entrance gate - then it could take just a minute or 20 minutes depending upon how long the lines are and if the people in front of you are frequent visitors or (my luck) have never been before and kept asking the CM questions....:rotfl:

then once you park the car - then the walk to the tram can be a minute or 10 minutes from you car. (again think i am just unlucky here).
