Distance from walkway to HoJo's

Hi All
does anyone have any idea how far ( in miles/feet) hojo's is from the pedestrian walkway?

It difficult trying to estimate.

I really want to stay at HoJo's, but hubby is keen on closer to entrance and cont. brekky included. ie BWPPI, Carousel, Tropicana.

Help!!!!

I am really guestimating here but if the average person walks 1 mile in 20 minutes and the HoJo is around 5 minutes further then I would say one fourth of a mile further! It is not a bad walk but some of it is uphill at the end or maybe it just felt that way after a long day in the park! It is a very nice hotel however and while I have never stayed at the other, the grounds of the HoJo are so nice, the staff so friendly it made up for a longer walk. I know where you are coming from however since we based staying at the Park Inn (not the Best Western Park Place Inn) on closeness to the main gate and the free breakfast they had. While it was nice to be closer and the freebie breakfast was okay, we said that the extra 5 minutes to the HoJo was worth it. Just our experience. The Park Place Inn gets good reviews I believe so you probably can't go wrong!

How about the Candy Cane Inn, it has it's very own shuttle and a nice breakfast buffet. Rooms are cute and comfy. It's our favorite place to stay.

I've already booked at Ho-Jo's. I figure the "to" part won't be an issue, but I have figured that my kids will be worn slick by the end of the day, and we'll need to take the shuttle back. Any info on the shuttle? How long does it run after park closing? What is the cost? Can you buy a daily pass???

If anyone's used the shuttle, how does it compare to the busses at WDW?

You can buy a pass for the ART at the front desk of the HoJo. We found the walk back to be the problem too! Also my father in law was with us and is disabled so it was a must for him. The only problem is that you will drive by the HoJo because they have to drop off people at other hotels first, then come back around (the HoJo is the last stop after leaving from Disneyland). Although one day we were the only people on the shuttle and he just stopped on the street without actually pulling into the HoJo parking lot and made us promise not to tell! Going to the park you are the last stop before Disneyland but we only used it once for going to the park. It is not quite like the buses at WDW but it can come in handy. Different hotels use different busses, each stop has a letter. If you are unsure just ask the driver which hotels he is going to. It is a fairly easy system and the shuttles were always clean and the drivers knowledgeable and friendly. It takes maybe about the same amount of time using the ART that it does to walk when you are returning (around 10 minutes), plus the wait time. I found it easier to walk but with my fil we had to use it some. I am not sure how long it runs after park closing but I would think at least an hour maybe?

We stayed at HoJos with a 9 and 6YO and while that walk back sometimes caused a few tired meltodowns at the end of the day, we still thought it better than waiting for the shuttle.

It really was no more than 10 minutes, even with a tired 6YO and the distance from the the shuttle parking to the HOJo was about the same as from Fantasyland to the shuttles - so you tell them they were already half way there!

Just discovered another post contains a satellite map of Disneyland with a scale.

It shows the distance from the crossing to HoJo is about 450 yards. It's another 150 from there to the Shuttle parking, so taking the shuttle saves you a walk of around 600 yards.

I'm thinking maybe I should take my stroller...my older son and I could do the walk with no problem, and if the little one wants to zonk out, he can!!!

Then again, if I decide we're too pooped, it's nice to know the shuttle is available!
