What is the distance from the Santa Fe to the parks? Do you walk the distance or is there bus service?

I think it's about 20-25 minutes to walk. I've never stayed that far out, but it about 10/15 to Sequoia lodge and santa fe is quite a bit back from there.

I'll post a pic for you. :)

The buses are horrible, lots of very rude people pushing, I'd avoi them like the plague!!

Well, that changes our plans as to where to stay. It sounds like it is well worth the difference in price to stay at another hotel.

This shows you the route you'd have to take.

I'm sure it depends on your laziness factor, but my bf and I though Sequoia was a bit too much of a walk last time really, hence DLH this time.

We were doing 8am-Midnight days though.

(We're not lazy really, lol, just on holiday we like a break from our normal gym routines on holiday!)

The Santa Fe is the furthest out hotel, along with the Cheyenne. But its not 20-25 minutes walk from the hotel to the parks. Its 15 minutes - and thats with a dawdling 6-year old :goodvibes .

Going along the lakeside, the Santa Fe is right next door to the Sequoia Lodge.

Its a very pleasant walk too. You can also get the shuttle bus from the Santa Fe direct to the parks and back. They run every 10 minutes or so throughout the day and evening, and its less than 5 minutes by shuttle bus.

We walked from and too the Cheyenne with a dawdling 5 year old in 15mins.
Have also walked too and from Santa Fe with a dawdling 33 year old and took roughly the same time.
we always walk back after an evening in the village we usually start planet hollywood end and work our way through by time we get to rain forest cafe we might as well walk back to hotels as the walk back through village for a bendy bus can be just as far.

You guys must walk fast!!! I swear it always took s about 15/20 mins from the park entrance to Sequoia....maybe I slow down to admire too much in the village....

Lol 25 mins no way.

If you're in the village it's literally 5 minutes. It's longer getting to the Cheyenne though more scenic. I love how all the hotels are round lake disney, it just makes it that bit more special at night (the atmosphere at Mcdonalds is also pretty cool!)

I stayed there last week & it took me 15 mins to walk from the gate of the park to the Santa Fe & then a further 5 mins to walk to my room - I was in the furthest away block from the bridge you cross to get to the hotel!

on our most recent trip we stayed at the Cheyenne and it probably took us no more than 15 mins and that was with nana's and a little one in a pushchair who wanted to get out and feed the fish ... the fish were bigger than her !! We also stayed at the Cheyenne when I was pregnant and the walk did take that bit longer but it was still ok and it's nice to take in all the scenery. We occasionally use the bendy bus but it can be a bit of a scrum !!!

It took us 8 minutes from the Sequoia- Robert timed it!! Lol!

Wow!! Well I'm sorry t have been so wrongly informed everyone....

Guess we walk slow and get too sidetracked by the shops and photo opportunities!

I got told about 10 mins, maybe 15 if you have children in tow. I never walked it in January far to cold.

We have always walked rather than get the bus, except when we have luggage. It's a lovely walk beside the river and definitely doesn't take any more than 15-20 minutes, even when dawdling. :)

Yeh its about 10-15 to the Sequoia, thats in driving snow and blizzards when your feet are practically unable to move as they are frozen, and lovely warm sunny weather. I can't see the walk from SL to SF being anymore than 5 minutes extra at most, if not the same length .

We happily walked with troops in tow from Hotel Cheyenne. Pushing a buggy took about 15 mins :)

when we were there in Jan we always seemed to time it so we just missed the bus :P On the first day we went to the desk and asked how long a walk it was and when she said "oh quite a long walk maybe 10-15 mins" we chuckled and said no problem. the poor french girl had quite a suprised look on her face.

And to echo others its not a long walk at all. most days we did it in 10ish mins. maybe a shade longer if we stopped to look at something.

We walked to and from the Santa Fe everyday when we went in May. It's quite a pleasant walk along by the river and through a very quiet Disney Village. As we were going to be covering miles in the park an extra 15 mins walk was nothing.

Might not be so keen to walk it in January but we will see.

Oh glad to know this, as we're staying at the Santa Fe next week (wow, amazing to be able to say we'll be there NEXT WEEK!) and have been debating whether it would be worthwhile to walk it.

OK, thanks ever so much for these responses. Looks like we will book the SF after all as a 10-12 minute walk will not be bad at all. Our trip is still some 23 months away, but I think I will need all that time to sort out and plans for UK and DLRP. Now, if just the currency exchange rate would become a little more favorable!
