What part of San Diego is your reference point?

not sure I am looking for a nice 5 star hotel in the la jolla area is that a correct area I have never been will spend 3 nights there and drive to disney's GC hotel

LAX - La Jolla... in clear traffic, maybe 2 1/2-3 hours. It's about 120 miles away.

Lo Jolla - Disneyland. 90 mins - 2 hours.. maybe. Same for the way back.

It all depends on how aggressive of a driver you are and the times of day you're on the road

Your drive times are covered above.

Regarding lodging, are you looking for a nice hotel or a resort?

either one. but 5-6 stars. maybe at beach or near tourist things

When I ws in SD a few weeks ago we hit Sea World and San Diego Zoo. It was me and my hubby. We boht loved the zoo. I must admit that I enjoyed SeaWorld a lot more then I thought I would. We had the Soouthern California Citypasses and they worked out great for us. Next time I'm in SD(won't be anytime soon) I plan on checking out the Wild Animal Park.

Can I jump in also Tink33? We are looking at coming into SD in June and staying one night at the Hotel del Coranado and then taking the train (Amtrak) to Aniheim to stay at the Disneyland Resort.

We plan on flying in early and checking into the Del. Not sure what to do the rest of the day but wander around the building and grounds. The next morning we are going to the SD Zoo and then checking out and taking the train to Anaheim and staying for 4-5 nights.

Is there any suggestions you can give? Transportation, Coranado, food?

Craig,

Your kids might have fun renting a surry bike.

How about some delicious ice cream at Mootown Creamery ?

You can also see the Navy SEALS train on the beach.

Don't forget to check the Coronado Visitor's Guide for events during your stay.

As far as transportation, does the Del offer airport transport? If not, a taxi is your best bet. The train ride from San Diego to Anaheim offers some great views.
