Distance from bus or car

I posted this in the other area and was told to post it here instead.

I will have a friend with mobility issues on our Feb trip. I am trying to figure out the shortest distance to the gates.

How far is it from:

Handicap parking to gate
Pop Century bus to gate
Or is there a drop off area? If there is a drop off area can I drop her then go park?

She will have a cane will there be benches along the walk for her to stop and rest?

FYI I drive a small sports car without a trailer hitch and small trunk. We will not be renting ECV off site, we are renting one at the parks. So I am trying to figure out how far she will have to walk to get to the ECV.

Bus is always closer then parking lots.

I agree that bus is always closer. That said I will recommend that you rent from an outside vendor and not from Disney.
Why?
You may have long distances to walk at Pop Century depending on where your room is located.
There are not many benches to sit on along the way
Even though the buses are closer it can be a good distance to the park entrance and rental area.
Depending on time of year and number of guests ECV can run out. Happened to e a few times before I had my own power wheelchair.
Offsite ECVs are easier to drive than Disney ones

I am going to disagree a little with "the bus is always closer".

AK handicapped parking is closer to the entrance than the bus entrance.
Epcot handicapped parking (in the first lot) is closer than many of the buses.

HS is about the same or slightly less depending on parking spot/bus drop off.

MK hands down-bus is closer than handicapped parking.

And yes there are drop off areas. You would not want to use it MK because the drop off is at the ticket and transportation center not the actual park. I don't know how much the other drop off areas would help- but they do have them.
